FDA accepting comments on family smoking prevention bill

The FDA is accepting public comments on the tobacco control, family smoking prevention bill until 9/29/2009. This is your chance to give your opinions on snus to the FDA.

Lets keep it civil boys and girls. There are people within the FDA that are well aware of the concept of reduced harm. The incoming head of the FDA, the former New York City Health Commissioner Margaret Hamburg, brought in the needle exchange program to New York City in the 90s. The program reduced the spread of HIV and hepatitis. There where many loud voices screaming that it would encourage drug use and blah, blah, etc, etc.

No guarantees that our voices will actually make a difference but it can’t hurt.

Good God this is scary, I just posted a pretty well thought-out and complicated comment on that board, and noticed that of the ones I read, most of the well thought-out comments were left by those who ADVOCATE reduced-harm products.
The short, blunt, near idiotic comments? Left by people who want tobacco banned. Lets just hope the FDA doesn't listen as closely to those blowhards.
And they say WE'RE the blowhards...these uneducated fools who lump all tobacco into one category.
Didn't they pay attention in history class? Ever heard of PROHIBITION?? Did that work? No, people kept drinking, and criminals became more powerful because they made BANK off unregulated alcohol that was either made in disgusting circumstances, or imported. A loss for everyone.
And if they want tobacco banned so bad, why don't they ban fast food too? Heart disease brought on by high fat/cholesterol kills more people than cigarettes even. But to give up good ol' mickey d's would be too much for these folks.
They offer up all these justification like "it's a drain on healthcare" well NEWSFLASH so are all those Starbucks latte's and Big Mac's people wolf down. Anyone grabbing their pitchforks to haze those folks? HELL no. People even go so far as to claim that it's not THEIR fault, it's their FAMILIES fault because fatassness runs in the gene pool. I love those things too, but still...I guess it's smokers fault that our country is up to its ears in debt, not government waste on shit like research into why guys hate condoms (we could all tell them the answer to that, am I right?).
But no, these people won't shut up until tobacco is BANNED.
I am heartily discouraged now. Good help us if these crusaders have their way. :x
I know I'm preaching to the quire here, thank God for you guys at SnusOn. I'd have gone crazy by now without like-minded folks like you.
      I think I need another snus 8) 8) 8)

It's high amount of sugar, corn syrup, refined flour, that's in about everything, that has led to high diabetes and obesity and heart disease, with cases in younger and younger people. This is way more harmful than any tobacco.
