It would be pointless to smoke a cigarette now. Snus keeps the nic levels in my blood stable, so I would gain no nic rush from a cig.

Snus primarily, supplemented by e-smoking on occasion. (Why waste a portion late at night, when I can e-smoke a bit instead?) I REFUSE to pay the new government extortion on cigarettes or bulk ryo tobacco.

E-smokiing did not allow me to stop with the cigs. I was still doing 2-4 ryo per day while e-smoking. Snus completely OBLITERATED any desire to smoke.

If Camel snus removes all desire to smoke, I can't imagine what it will be like once I have the real deal when my order arrives from Sweden,

      1. How long it has been since your last smoke (or dip).

Pack a day smoker for 18 years. I’ve quit twice for over a year but always went back. Been almost a month now since starting snus.

      2. How you are feeling in regards to no longer smoking.

Awesome. Quitting was extremely easy with snus to turn to. Lungs are clearing up nice and I don’t stink anymore…at least not of cigabuts.

      3. What your plan is (i.e. is your plan to stop tobacco use all-together with snus, keep using snus, use it for a while to let your lungs heal up a bit, etc.)

I may be a lifer on snus. I find it is much much more addictive for me than butts were. I could easily go through the work day with or without a butt before. Now I find myself almost in a panic if I forget my snus when I go out to lunch. If I ever ran out I’d be a mess. I think it’s the fact that I can keep a pris in for an hour instead of the 10 minute smoke. Don’t think it’s the nicotine as much as the oral fixation part that grabs me. I don’t mind though. I’m also getting heavy on the snuff now. It’s just so dam good!

25 days as of this post! (Running total in signature).

I intend to taper down through the use of minis, General Silver, nic-free portions and even the dreaded Camel (still a couple of tins in the freezer). The eventual goal is nic free, but right now I'm enjoying my sterks.

I actually quit smoking a month or two before that, everywhere but at home. The clock started when I smoked my last ones at home.

Feels great. I was starting to have trouble visualizing myself not smoking, which was scary. Patches and gum had no effect, as many here have found.

EDIT: Before I quit, I want to use a bit of snuff to blast out my sinuses (nicotine is a vasoconstrictor and should help swelling). I should then be able to flush the junk out with the neti pot or other meds. So, if anyone has snuff recommendations for medicinal purposes... I was thinking of Wilson's Camphor & Mild, or similar.

May take a couple of tries to get it to work, and to fit into your sig box.

              1. Well, today bought my first smokes for weeks, BUT atleast I bought lucky strike what makes snus too. ; )

              2. Like snupy said, it would be pointless to smoke a cigarette now. (not counting the random smokes  )

              4. Hmm, nothing to say here either. : )

it's been about a month... I was still smoking here and there while using snus, but then decided to quit cigarettes all together

                  2. How you are feeling in regards to no longer smoking.
Since about 99% of people I hang out with are still cigarette smokers, I get cravings every once inawhile, but just popping in a snus fixes that right quick

                  3. What your plan is (i.e. is your plan to stop tobacco use all-together with snus, keep using snus, use it for a while to let your lungs heal up a bit, etc.)
I do not plan on going back to cigarettes, but I have no plans to quit snus either. Im kind of going with the flow on this one
                  I'd kinda feel like a liar if I didn't fix this..haha

I've definitely been smoking here and there, but I snus more than I smoke, that's for sure.

Since the price going up on cigs so much though, I've definitely been smoking a lot less and hopefully not at all in the near future

                    1. Tomorrow will be two weeks for me. I never thought I'd make it this far. I smoked a pack (sometimes up to a pack and a half) a day for 12 years. I continued to smoke for the first couple of weeks after receiving my first order and eventually I decided that it was time to give up smoking for good.

                    2. I've actually done pretty well considering. Snus keeps me pretty level throughout the day. I've had a couple of rough moments, but a few minutes with a portion and all was well.

                    3. For now I plan on sticking with snus. I have come to love the taste, something I never thought I'd be able to do in the beginning. I heavily favor Skruf Stark portions and Nick and Johnny Original, but I have come to really like General and Grov Portions as well.

                    4. Nothing really to add to the above.

Re: For everyone quitting cigarettes with snus...

                      1. How long it has been since your last smoke (or dip).

I'm back to using one dip in the morning, as I feel a need to wake up early, and dip does it for me. I can't go back to sleep if I need to spit, so There's really no way snus could wake me up in the same fashion. Also, amercian dip kills morning breath better than snus. Not trying to be an advertisement here, that's just how it goes for me.

                      2. How you are feeling in regards to no longer dipping.

I used to try to simply dip in between my 4 hour work shifts to get enough nic. It left me up-and-down and basically unable to concentrate. Since starting snusing at work all day, I am known as being dependable and thurough at work. This is no joke- it improved my situation and actually got me a small raise.

                      3. What your plan is (i.e. is your plan to stop tobacco use all-together with snus, keep using snus, use it for a while to let your lungs heal up a bit, etc.)

I fooled with the idea of quitting nicotine, but The terror I felt when I actually ran out and had to use dip was unbearable. They say snus withdrawal isn't so bad, which is true until you're actually completely out. I don't see a future without snus in it.

                      4. Anything and everything else you want to add, or subtract out any of the above points.

It's true that it's fairly easy to switch from dip to snus- but what's strange is after several weeks without a dip, I'll crave one. It must be something besides the nicotine. I figure it's better to buy some and have one if I want one, without fully going back to it. So I'm running with a dual-addiction now. I'm a bit concerned about my teeth and health. Pending a doctors and dentists visit this summer(long overdue), I will continue with snus indefinitely.

Another side note, I only use nasal snuff when I'm sick and salty snus sounds horrible

                        1. How long it has been since your last smoke.

                        1 year and 5 months.

                        2. How you are feeling in regards to no longer smoking.

Once every couple of months I get the idea to smoke a fine Cuban cigar again just for fun, but I reject the idea immediately. It took 12 months of snusing to reach that point. The good thing about snus is, that one can smoke a cigarette or cigar without getting hooked again. I smoked a few cigarettes in my first year of snus-use, less than one pack in total, and the crappy smell and unpleasant nicotine-effect only helped me to get over them for good.

                        3. What your plan is (i.e. is your plan to stop tobacco use all-together with snus, keep using snus, use it for a while to let your lungs heal up a bit, etc.)

Snus until I die, what else?

Newbies shouldn't be afraid to use lös or strong portions to kick the smokes as fast as possible, if only to set up the brain once about how strong snus is and that cigarettes are dispensable. Everyone who finds that he or she doesn't like lös or strong portions can use normal portions or miniportions later on.

                        Cheers!

                          smoke

id say i had my last smoke yesterday, ive been snusing for a couple months now and everyday i smoke less and less, i went from a pack or more a day, to 10, then to five, then 3 then roughly one a day. i havent had one today at all, i went right to the fridge and grabbed General ES loose out of the fridge i didnt even have the urge to get a cig. im slowly moving away from smoking.

i do feel better physically though, i can breathe a lot better since im not shoving 20 or more cigs to my mouth daily. some days i dont even smoke, today is the day i dont wanna have that one cig. i can smell better like when i wake up the coffee radiates all the way to my nose upstairs, when i smoked id have to be over the pot to get a smell out of it. i feel better when i run, walk, go up stairs as well.

i plan on continuing to use snus for the rest of my life unless for some reason i quit but i dont think i will. i enjoy it a lot more than i do cigs the taste of it is amazing, and i get my nicotine just fine.

Started smoking and gave up snus for a bit recently. Once again I'm sick and tired of smoking cigarettes so today I'm going to put in an order for some skruf loose and some etten portions. I'll buy some camel portions to tide me over until my snus gets here.

Bye bye my beloved American Spirits.

Perfectly reasonable reason haha. Had 5 smokes today which was a miracle. Got some camel frost snus which surprisingly I like a lot. Too bad they are so small though. Not going to smoke at all tomorrow wish me luck lol.
