Should I be worried?

Since i started using snus 2 weeks ago i has been very careful about my mouth.
And then when i was checking my gums i found a very little ''cirkle'' at a spot on my gums which is white/yellow coloured.

Anybody knows what this could be?

Yea, it's gum discoloration :^P

Snus can cause leukoplakia, which boils down to white patches on your gums/lips. It doesn't hurt anything, but is a sub optimal condition. move your snus around more if it bothers you, but it isn't a big deal.

Gum discoloration after two weeks? I wouldn't immediately assume that the spot is even snus related.

I dont think its snus related too, but i just discovered it after beginning snusing And dont know if its something serious or just ignore it ?

Salt is kind of tough on mucous membranes, and it wouldn't surprise me to hear of discoloration after 2 weeks. It's kind of fast, but not out of the realm of possibility.

It may not be gum discoloration, it may be a canker sore, and yes it's probably snus related. Man this forum is in such denial that snus can cause damage to your mouth, albeit this sore is not "damage".

oh, and also: you don't have to be worried, it will go away in a matter of days.

Dude...a cancer sore after TWO WEEKS of snus use? I'm not saying that snus is like a vitamin or something, but if you got a cancer sore from two weeks of using snus, I would have serious questions about how your body survived for the at least 18 years you needed to legally buy tobacco products.

I dipped for 10 years, and I've snused for two months now, and I haven't even gotten leukoplakia.

Aahhh...did he mean canker sore? It could be that. Salt can have that effect...but it would not be only snus that could contribute to that.

I was critiquing the idea that mouth issues are automatically associated with dip/snus use. They may be, sometimes, and sometimes they may not be.

I think we keep it pretty real for the most part. For all who are not aware: consistently placing salt onto your gum line for hours at a time kind of pisses it off, but like all others have said, it comes and goes and really just amounts to an annoyance at worst. There are risks to snus, but the risks are, at worst, an occasional case of salt irritating your gums and making the equivalent of a canker sore and a slightly (and I mean really slightly) above average risk of pancreatic cancer, and even that is so small that it's almost not statistically significant. Literally adding extra butter onto your toast each morning is probably about as harmfull over the course of 40 years, it's nothing to worry about relative to the rest of the shit we include in our diets.

It used to be hard to breath the air in Los Angeles in the 70's due to pollution, anyone over 30 probably has better things to worry about than if snus is going to kill them lol.



That being said, the sore OP is experiencing is almost 100% from snus assuming it's occuring in the region where you usually place your pris/portion. But nothign to worry about, it'll be gone in less than a week. If it persists, go see a doctor, but it's probably just from the salt so if it goes away in a week or so I wouldn't worry about it.
