Yes, snus will continue to make a person feel relaxed and up your mood. The way I get relaxed for bed every night is by popping a portion in and lieing down. I always manage to take it out before I fall asleep (so far). I also feel a lot of relief when I am stressed out and pop one in. That aspect has never faded away, I just don't get that dizzy high feeling anymore, which is fine by me.
Should I worry about my mouth and upper lip?

LOL, that reminds me of my first time I smoked a cig. I knew nothing about them and smoked a camel unfiltered, OMG, I couldn't walk, talk, or even sit straight!! Snus for me is the only reason I was able to give them up for good. As I tell other new members, along with some of the other veterans here, the beauty of it all is that I can smoke if I feel like it and never go back to them. This very rarely happens because I prefer snus, but I see no problem in smoking a couple of cigs here and there to mix things up-that won't kill me, it is smoking packs a day that kills people.
Really though, don't take mine of anybody else heres word on it. We all love snus and will defend it. Do some of your own research, just keep your eye out for DOCUMENTED information, not outlandish claims from a person that thinks tobacco is the devil and won't even consider the facts. There are tons of links here in this forum about research that has been done. One thing I can tell you without hesitation is this, if your concern is your health, and your choices are smoking or snus, I can tell you beyond a shadow of doubt that snus is MUCH MUCH safer, but like any tobacco product it does have an element of risk, so it is really up to you if it is worth it.

I wish I had never become addicted to nicotine. But, I do enjoy snus more than smoking. There are worse things to be addicted to....

Let me reask that question because the context matters here, do I sometimes wish I had never become addicted to tobacco? Yes, but as I said, so far my choices have been cigs or snus, and snus wins by a landslide, so do I wish I had never become addicted to snus? No If you have a choice, go for no tobacco. It is the best way for most people.
BTW Addictions always start that way, I don't feel addicted, I can quit when I want. Snus is very addicting and I wouldn't count on being able to keep yourself from being addicted. Some (very few) people can somehow, but honestly your chances aren't good.

I enjoy tobacco, and on it's own, I have no problem being addicted to it. What I DO have a problem with is the egregious taxes, poor availability, and capricious rules placed on tobacco sales. The government makes tobacco use less pleasant than it should be.

ROFLMAO.
That guy on yahoo has no credible information, screw him.
Yes, nicotine is addicting. Yes, it's not totally safe.
Am I addicted? Honestly.. After using snus for over 2 years now... I can say... sorta? I enjoy it, but I don't HAVE to have it. I choose to use it on a constant basis because It's enjoyable.
I smoked hookah a lot before, and I feel I was more dependent on that than I am of snus.
If I HAD to quit tomorrow I could, do I want to? No.
Do your own research and make your own decisions, don't let ANYONE make that decision for you.

sore and rough gums..
ok so i had to make a new account since my old one is no longer valid or maybe i forgot the login info who knows. anywho, i have been chewing for about a little over two years now, i found snus in the fall of '10 and used it up until i ran out and had no more money to make an order and that was sometime in march. so i switched back to chew for a couple months.
i noticed starting like around two months ago the gums on the inside of my lower lip started to get like leathery or something felt like sandpaper kind of. now they just feel a little rough and slightly bumpy like very small bumps on the gums or something. i know its probably just from wear and tear from chewing. though i did put alot in and started using alot more so maybe thats why gums never got this way during my first year of chewing. i havent had a dip since my snus shipment came in monday morning but ive noticed over the past day or two the areas in my upper lip where i put my snus have been getting a little sore, and i even see a few of those small rough bumps. now, i know its sort of a getting used to snus thing and ive read alot on here about it passing once your gums toughen up, but i just wanted to be sure. also, i am hoping that my lower gums heal up eventually, as stupid as it sounds the ****ing rough gums sort of set off my anxiety of the big C haha.
im going to go to the local free clinic here sometime this week because ive been having slight aches in my jaw and cheekbones which seem to radiate from or close to where my teeth are, so i assume i just have a few cavities. i have had rough throat from what i assume was undiagnosted strip throat that two other family members living with me have had, or its some type of cold or infection but thats going away, also ive had a soreness in my neck muscles the ones on the side of the neck leading form the collarbone since last night at work. but i equate that to either soreness form working or from my evil bed which i just got ride of after it caused my whole body to ache. but my anxious mind will be quick to compare these aches and pains to being connected to some sort of cancer spreading lol.
anyways, what say you good snusers?

Welcome to SnusOn!
Snus and dip can cause white spots on your lip and gum, and the salt can sometimes "pickle" your lip, and make it leathery. That should go away after you quit using for awhile, or switch positions. It doesn't lead to cancer, or anything else like that. You may get gum recession, but that varies per individual. A dentist is always a good idea. You only get one set of teeth, and it's easier caring for them in the first place, rather than waiting till after they go to hell.

i figured that, when i had like bad anxiety for a couple days i didnt dip for 3 days strait sometime last month and that wear and tear roughness started to go away on my lower lip so given enough time since i dont dip anymore my lower lip gums should heal upi just hope they do sooner so i dont have to worry about it even though i probably have no good real reason too. i know i probably have a few cavities since im getting occasional light pains in my jaw radiating near my teeth. so i should probably have that looked at. my gums where i put my snus in are still a good bit sore. but that should clear up soon. i never got soreness when i first used snus but when i first started it, i only used like 3 portions a day and every day since i got this new order ive been usin like at least 5 a day plus 90% of what i put in this thunder frosted so ouch.....
i also get paranoid that i might have some type of bacterial or oral infection, because i get occasional sore or slightly burning roof of my mouth and get this sort of dry clammy and occasionally salty feel/taste in my mouth. oh well, nothing to concern myself with i guess....
