Hang in there. Been there, too. Some people need nicotine to function. I'm one of those people. When I quit smoking I couldn't tell my left from my right. I was actually driving on the wrong side of the road one day. I pulled over just before getting into a head-on collision! It wasn't about the will power to quit. I had the will power, but I simply couldn't function and I was either going to kill myself or someone else because I couldn't function. That's when I knew that I needed nicotine, but I needed nicotine without inhaling it. I tried Commit lozenges for a while, but they didn't do it for me. The patch gave me heart palpitations. Nicotine gum gave me a sore throat.

Snus, and an occasional sniff of snuff when needed, gets me by now. No more smoking for me!

The first few days after I quit, I felt not so well...withing a few days though I was feeling "normal" again. Now that I am over a month of not smoking I feel great. I have more energy, my skin has more color to it. Overal I feel great!

I went straight to the highest level of nicotine (I started on Odens) and suffered no withdrawal.

I started chewing on day and that was the end of smoking. After a while, I felt alot better, had more energy and could breath so much easier. I feel even better since I started snus /snuff and stopped chewing.

Once in a while I will have a smoke, but only in certain situations(like running out of snus during work).

I notice that at some point almost everyone has been a smoker .... the people that are currently snusing ....

                Harm reduction FTW!!

I was reading some interesting facts.... and will post them as soon as I collect enough data about oral tobacco and it's long term effects on the circulatory system... seems as snus can harm us at some point........

I'd like to see those facts. There is no doubt snus is not good for you but like you said harm reduction. It is clearly better than smoking I see that based on the facts of my experience. In the first 3 months of switching to snus 1. The bags under my eyes are gone 2. I lost fat 3. I gained muscle (I had been going to the gym every day and smoking 2 packs a day and wondered why I wasn't getting results) 3. I can breathe MUCH better 4. My skin looks better. 5. I sleep through the night for the first time in years. I used to wake up at least 3 times a night and smoke a cigarette in bed. The list goes on and on but I just realized I am hijacking this thread.
Back to the point when I first quit I was using Thunder Extra Strong and Jakobssons Strong most of the time back to back for a total of about 14-16 portions a day. Now I use regular strength Loose in normal sized prillas at home and only use about 4 ES portions a day for a max of 8 portions in a day. Basically what I'm saying is don't be worried that you will build a tolerance like cigarettes. Most people go down instead of up.

                    I completely agree ...

but I was referring to circulatory issues ... and nicotine largely (snus contains nicotine doesn't it) :^)

let me find that piece of text....

What does nicotine do to your circulatory system?

It doesn't directly affect the heart but does enhance your chance for diseases such as cancer, due to lowering your heart activity and destorying lung tissue

Does nicotine affect the circulatory system?

Over the long haul, nicotine can increase the level of the "bad" choleste...

How Does Nicotine Contribute To Disease Of The Circulatory System?

The effect of nicotine on lactation in breastfeeding mothers. Nicotine, an active ingredient of tobacco, is a psychoactive drug - one that affects mind and behavior. It produces only a slight high

Bottom line - tobacco (snus alone) without the nicotine is completely harmless ... it's the nicotine that can have effects on the health.
