Suspiciously close to the Wikileak's leaks about all that information of fail concerning our progress there, almost as though after 9 years it takes one source to actually make a change. Hypothetically speaking...

But most of the war has consisted of the US army getting their butts owned by homemade weapons and explosives, so to actually "win" they might as well just a nuke because the enemy can literally be anyone at this point.

Well it's not that were getting our butts whooped really, I mean we have a historically low fatality rate. They don't actually kill too many of our guys, a major victory is killing 2 guys in a week for the most part (except the last few months which have been bad). Really the problem is that we tried to occupy afghanistan, which has a long record of fighting off world powers. We should have gone in hard and kicked ass, but instead we decided to be nice to the locals and play cop and so our failure was sown in the soil from day 1.


This whole thing has been a waste of time, money, and blood, and has resulted in more terrorism, not less.

Well, I think these "wars" are doomed to fail.
I mean, let's say China attacked us, and defeated our government/military to liberate us, and was occupying our land, while I would be happy to be liberated, and do what I could to help them, many people, I think would not like it, and would try to fight the Chinese troops here. So, I suspect it's the same in Iraq or anywhere.

I am just glad after all these years there was never a draft or something. I guess, thank you to all those people that are willing to fill all the positions in all the branches of the military, you are the reason I don't have to be in your shoes. But as for the whole war, literally the only impact it had on my life was the increase in gas prices. Other than that, I have yet to see any benefit and or change caused by the war or any increase in my safety.

I get your analogy but I would never want to be "liberated" by chinese communists. Their people don't enjoy the quality of living that we do and they are totalitarians over there. Access to snuson would be blocked by the government so that we don't speak bad about them on here. America has it's problems but I still don't see ay country that is doing it better. (Comparable country that is. I relaly like iceland, sweden and norway).

Obama is such an ego-maniac. Now he is saying this is a promise kept and that he is pretty much who we should thank for the troops leaving now. Does anyone remember when that journalist threw his shoe at president bush? Yah, while you were paying attention to how funny that was, bush was signing the status of forces agreement saying we have to start to the withdrawal our troops by the end of 2010, and have them gone from iraq by 2011. Obama blames bush for everything bad, why not credit him for something good? Why is he taking all the credit here like he did something. It required no action on his part, he just had to sit back and let bushs arrangements play out.
