Book of Eli- Did not know what to expect, ending was awesome.

Green Zone- Great topic for movie. Great topic for a movie.

Shutter Island- Alfred Hitchcock vibe not seen in a longtime

THe ROAD!- Absolutely depressing with continual nightmares

Edge of Darkness- Mel does a great job as most usual.

Brooklyns Finest- gangster/cop flick. Good to see Ettan again and there was a lot Cognac scenes which gave me cravings on my off night of drinking.

Just saw inception. This is the best movie i've seen in a year or two. I was real into the matrix when it came out and if you like the matrix you'll love this movie. by far my favorite movie of the last several years, absolutely well written and even the ending was a sudden twist. I would recommend this movie over any other movie i've seen lately.

The Road: I thought it was great but was definately depressing. Got me goign to the cupboard to count how many cans of peaches I had incase the world ended right now lol.

Salt: Good spy movie, worth watching imo.

Book of Eli: I watched this not knowing at all what it was about. Figured it was a remake of actual book of Eli. It did not dissapoint, was very intiresting and had a great ending.

I'm a Netflix 3-at-a-timer and stream online a lot as well, though the online selection leaves a lot to be desired. I, too, just watched Book of Eli recently (over the weekend) and enjoyed it quite a bit. I also watched The Hurt Locker, I found it quite interesting and good. It's Complicated was pretty decent for a few laughs. I also enjoyed Shutter Island, expected it to be scary but it was more a thriller than anything. Not a fan of District 9, I thought it would be right up my alley, but like Chaotic, I also had to watch it in chunks because it kept putting me to sleep! Currently waiting on Sorority Row and Kick-Ass, looking forward to seeing those.

As for movies in theatres, I don't go often but took the plunge for Dinner for Schmucks and found that it had a lot of great one-liners, but overall the plot was pretty bland. I'm really looking forward to seeing the Other Guys though!

Also, if you've never seen it, I highly recommend Waking Ned Devine. Nothing funnier than a bunch of old Irish guys trying to cash in on a winning lottery ticket

I think I watched this on netflix a few weeks ago. Pretty good from what I can recall. I tend to like military movies but they seem to be kinda hit or miss, with some being great and others beings just plain stupid. I'm still wiating for someone to 1-up platoon or Band of Brothers.

Speaking of Netflix, on my account they will only mail 1 DVD at a time, even if I have 10 in my que. Do you guys get 3 at a time like they used to do? For me they will only send one. Perhaps it is because I am still on the 30 day free trial and they don't want to take too muh of a risk on me yet.

I have the upgraded account...I used to have Blockbuster where they would mail you movies and then you could return them in the store for movies there and they'd send you a new movie in the mail. I stopped that though because they made the requirement that you had to return your in-store rental before they would mail out the next one, so there was no advantage over Netflix. That's when I upped my Netflix number to 3 at a time and added Blu-Ray, I end up paying about $22/month for it. Depending on how many movies you watch, you might only need two at a time...just watch one, send it in, and watch the other one while you're waiting for your next movie...I tend to watch most of mine on the weekends though so I prefer three at a time since I tend to be a couch potato on the weekends ;-)

I watched Apocalypto on Bluray disc at 1080p, this weekend. It was excellent, much better than I had expected.

OOh, okay, I was not aware they had different levels of membership.

Also, i remember what greenzone was about now. Mainly it's a story, loosely based on fact, regarding the fact there were no WMD's in Iraq, and was mainly a story about how in 2003 we sent units on a wild goose chase to find something we knew didn't exist, and in the course of that a bunch of soldiers died because they were given faulty intelligence from non vetted sources.

Pretty good account of what happened, with a little bit of a bias about what happened as well. But all in all it was about right, they sent guys here and there looking for shit at sites that the higher ups knew wouldn't reveal any weapons, because Sadam's WMD program was shut down a long time ago and not really much of a threat in the first place. He had chemical and biological weapons but no nukes or anything. Israel took care of that a long time ago

or the multi leveled Osama Bin Laden headquarters.

                    lol

Well the biological weapons part was certainly not a hoax, as he actually used them to gas the kurds in Kuwait. But I mean as terrible as that is, it's not what I would consider WMD's. WMD's means nukes in my mind, and many of the surrounding countries have nukes, so why Iraq? We went into Iraq because it served our prupose, 9-11 happened and that created a great opertunity to take out some of our dirty laundry in that region (namely sadam). Nothing more.

Sadam was a dick and was a tyrant, and did at one point use chemical weapons to genocide a population, but imo the country was alot more stable under his control than it is currently, and really we had no business over there. With modern tech, I don't see why nukes present that much of a danger anyways. Shoot them bitches down if they come. I mean any nukes a place like Iran or N Korea or Iraq would have is not going to be some future technology, it's going to be a rehash of old 50's technology and easy to take down.

I dunno, it was a good movie though, I would highly recommend it to those who like this subject matter.

                          District 9 was brilliant.

One film I saw recently, which is actually a few years old is 'No country for old men'. It's got a non ending but the psycho in it is disturbing. Maybe I see myself in him.

Green Zone and Hurt Locker were sh!t.

No Country For Old Men is a fantastic movie, i loved it. I might be biased since i love pretty much anything the Coen brothers put out.

District 9 was a bit dissapointing for me. It was shot very ameaturely (on purpose I guess). I don't like the blair witchcraft style shaking camcorder films, reminds me of cloverfield. Anyways, they didn't really explain it enough, I mean an advanced alien race of giant cockaroaches shows up and their ship breaks down over Africa. They are smart enough to travel across the universe, but too dumb to fix a flat tire, and they then leave the safety of their ship to go down to a UN concentration camp set up for them, where they survive by eating garbage and get beaten up by the locals.

Then they somehow understand understand english but talk in some alien language. There seems to be no real scientific intirest in the whole thing somehow, other than testing weapons they pretty much just leave them in their camp. Then at the end, the alien leaves on that little shuttle, telling the dude he'll be back in 3 years (lol, yah right sucker).

I dunno, I dig alien movies but it was kind of a dissapointment for me. Plus, if Frosted like it, than by default it is my American duty to hate it.

I make it a habit to watch No Country every other month. Yes, it's that good IMO.
