IF the people would UNITE against the rich by joining groups like WhileRomeBurns.org then our lives would get better. If we don't unite then our lives will be like the Untouchables in India-we'll be cleaning sewers for 10cents a day. UNITE PEOPLE!!!!!

At this point there are no really good solutions because the treason lobby in washington has let things go too far. We can pay higher prices in the near future(the market will adjust in accordance to supply/demand given time) for american made goods or we can live in a third world toilet with rampant unemployment,hyper-inflation and a rebellious beggar class. It's kinda like getting up in the morning and having to pick out your cleanest dirty shirt to wear to the laundromat.

There's no need to be silly about taxing imported oil. It's not like we have to tax everything or nothing, we'll tax those things we need to tax to foster american industry and infrastructure.

Well I gotta agree with you. My general mindset is that it's best to just hunker down and make it through the correction and then enjoy long term success at a later date. Like the recession; forget bailouts, let everything correct itself and let everything deflate back to what it SHOULD cost, it'll suck for a few years but in the long term it will be what's best for the country. Artificially propping it up and continuing business as usual will NOT prove to be a good long term strategy. I just have a feeling that any attempts at curbing overseas trade will be immediately sidestepped either via loopholes in the legislation or through international condemnation since we stopped doing business with them. For example, china is smart and has leverage on us, if we start enacting policies that lead to us not buying cheap trinkets from them at wallmart, they will use all of that US debt they hold to their advantage, which could have broad effects on our economy and ability to borrow money.


Like you said, it's lose lose and we're kinda ****ed.
