my brother in law is in a motor cycle group that goes to the funerals of the military. if those people show up to protest (or whatever you would call what they do) they come between them and the funeral. Basically, block the family from being able to tell the jerk wads are there. They don't fight these creeps, not so that anyone would know anyway but they try to make it so them being there is not noticeable. mostly the group is a bunch of old guys, 50+ who have the time.

I think violence solves every problem, it's just a question of degree. If they got their asses beaten a few times while protesting, I think that would curb their obnoxious behavior.

Yeah, society would fix itself in a lot of situations if there was no interference. But, unfortunately, police departments have their hands tied and are required to be present and prevent the situation from escalating to violence. Unless of course....someone would report a bogus call of huge emergency proportions, i.e. terrorists storming the local piggly wiggly grocery store with machine guns and suicide bombers. That might get all the cops to drive all the way to the other side of town and leave these folks to fend for themselves.

Note: I am in no way encouraging people to report false crimes. It was only a joke. It's a litigious society ya know!
