I wish it were my farm. It's a horse farm, Deo Volente, in Flemington, NJ. The owner, Mike Gulotta, is actually a neighbor of my Aunt Sue, which is one of the reasons I got the job as field hand. It's not what you know, it's who you know. =D

The farm has about 160 acres and is going to have 75 standard bred horses. All of them top notch too, and going to be bred for harness racing. Mike owns some damned fine horses like Worldly Beauty and Lis Mara (actually a partner ownership of Lis Mara). Beauty's foal is wonderful too. I was a bit surprised when she came over to me while I was leaning on the fence and didn't spook when I brushed through her mane. Momma kept watching me but figured out I was being nice and just watched. Normally momma's pretty damn protective of her girl, so I was pleased about that. Jackie was so jealous that I worked on the farm since she wants to own horses. Didn't help when I told her the manager, Fidencio Cervantes, was the manager at Perretti Farms before coming to work for Mike.

Definitely need to go shooting some time. I haven't picked up a weapon since Christmas, and it was the Ruger 10/22. Still driving tacks at 60 yards about, but I want to get out someplace where I can get some actual experience in long distance shooting. That's the real test, when you can hit a man sized target center of mass at over 300 yards. Can't wait to move out to the Dakotas instead of being stuck in Jersey. Would also make it a hell of a lot easier to get a handgun and CCW license. That's a whole different thread though.

havent went shooting since january...i jnow a good place out in texas my uncle has about 20 acres of land..right across the street from a cattle farm...lol

he's got targets set up and tons of rifles
