background checks are automatic along with credit checks at my company. You don't pass both of them and see ya. So you can't lie.

anyway danie, like i've said I am glad to be a working for cash doing things most people either can't or don't want to do, kinda guy. I'm doing alright, and I'm sure i'm not the only one, hell I might even make it a legit business some day..... anyway I used to think like you when things were rollin, just go get a job mother trucker, till about 2 years ago and the credit crunch got real serious, remember the bail outs and shit.... and your right there are ways to re-invent yourself or get by... but to part and parcelly say everyone without a job in an environment where even the cooked books say we are at 10% UE are lazy bastards.... just aint right my friend......

A "background check" is usually a government records check - criminal, driving (if relevant), etc.
A "credit check" will tell them if you pay your bills.
A reference check with prior employers, in 2010, pretty much consists of: Did xxx work for your company from 19xx to 20xx?
But none of this is really the point. The point is, if you are being told you are over-qualified, don't try to sell yourself so hard.
Normally, when you write a resume or interview you try to portray yourself in the most favorable light. Right?
If you are missing job opportunities due to being "over-qualified", tone down your story. There are multiple legitimate ways to tell a story.

This is going to make things much worse than they are now. You already have people fighting over fast food jobs and the defeat of this bill will release a new wave of unemployed people seeking work. This will also end the subsidized employment program for many states that provided people with work. The repercussions of not passing this bill are going to be enormous and everyone from small business' to our social services system is going to be hurt by this. You have to remember that government spending us usually more beneficial to our economy than private spending.

Your right GV it's gonna be bad, but you know what's really gonna happen, all the people gettin by on UE insurance , which by the way should be privately funded like all insurance policies, oh except social security, slush funds anyone. They are going to go and apply for other gubment programs, here in Il, it's called a link card and other health isurance that by the way is already funded by the gubment, lik all kids and such. Which apparently is the way they want it... these people will not all of a sudden find jobs, because there aren't any. This is the take down of America happening in front of your eyes People. If you have a job and can afford to get some popcorn, crack a beer and watch the shitter go down in flames....

I don't care if they are lazy.
2 years is long enough to go find a job.
If you can't find a job doing what you want - do something else.
If you can't find a job where you want - find one someplace else.
If you can't find a job you like - find one you hate.

"I'll bet that a high percentage of those 1M people coming off unemployment will now go find work. Maybe not the work they want. And maybe not where they want it. But there is work to be had and once we quit paying them not to work they will find it." danie.
