There are so many 3rd parties that nothing will ever change. There aren't enough people to get behind just one 3rd party. And even so, everything is against them. I backed Nader during Bush's first run to office. The media ignores 3rd parties. They get little to no coverage so the majority doesn't even know they exist. Say what you will about Nader, but I think they should just do away with the voting process for just one term, and give the guy the office for four years. That is one determined get knocked down get up again guy. Hell, he's been trying since the 70's.

Agreed - it seems like we are screwed regardless of whatever party is in power. It just seems to me like the Democrats tend to be a bit gentler than the Republicans while you are getting screwed!

I guess that's where we diverge, if people who are currently disenfranchised and those who unhappily vote with the big 2 found a 3rd party, I think it would be a majority if voters. It didn't take much for Perot to swing pretty significant numbers, sustaining that type of momentum is difficult.

In the end I guess voters get what they ask for, which is a bit of a sad commentary on our voting aged population given our current setup.

As the vast majority of us come from countries without a history of snus usage and we decided to use this product after reading up on it and don't really care if others view us as weird (and they do) we are a free thinking group. There are a lot of Contrarians here. I would guess that more people fall on the conservative/ libertarian side of things but all views seem to be represented. One thing I think we have more of than any other site is people who love the iconography of communism. Strange but another reason this is an interesting place.

                1. Mandatory Breast implants for all women below a D cup (Dog’s- Keep America Beautiful campaign)
                2. Tax on all non-tobacco users (Extended life and services fee)
                3. Mandatory reclassification of Poodles, Sitzus, and Pomeranians as cats
                4. Abolish all draconian leash laws
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

I think it's really a more or less equal mix, but I think most people, like me, are liberal on some subjects, and conservative on others, and maybe extreme on on a few as well.

                      Snusdog 2012!

Seriously, I don't like the right or left. I'm registered as an independent, and I consider myself libertarian, for want of a better term. I want the government out of my personal business, it's not their business what I do in my personal life as long as I don't harm others, what I do in the bedroom or what substances I choose to consume is my business, I don't need them to be my parents. The government that governs best, governs least IMHO. Obviously some things need to be run by the government, that's why it exists. They need to maintain schools, infrastructure, police and fire departments, military, etc. But a governement with too much power is not desirable, and I don't think a socialist state would work in America. I don't really like Obama much, but I didn't care much for Bush Jr either.

ummm.......most of my "friends" have both left and right wings.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Maybe it was a joke. But really there is absolutely nothing funny about terrorists on the left or right.

It's too bad this guy got an actual discussion going the way he did. The original post is flat-out trolling, especially since he has no idea whatsoever where the majority of members stand in our political views. He reads for 2 weeks then jumps in to make a silly and false claim that is intended to get people riled up. Not trying to be harsh, just calling it as I see it based on his other inflammatory posts. Anway, that, and what bakerbarber said.
