It's a typical right wing tactic to distort their numbers and
popularity.

They say the majority of Americans are conservative yet Obama
is President.

I heard Ann Coulter say again today that the majority of Americans
are opposed to Heath Care Reform. Is that why Obama was elected
by a majority of Americans with health care as part of his platform?

I say the majority of snusers are left wing.

The majority of americans aren't left wing. About 20 percent consider themselves liberals and 40 percent call themselves conservatives. The rest are moderates or don't know what they are. I'm probably right wing/libertarian depending on the issue.

Snuson could have a lot of left wing members but I would expect it to be about average. It's not as though snusing is political at all. Dip is thought of as a redneck thing but a lot of guys in college fraternities and sports teams dip. I was at a shell station in Washington a few years ago and a black guy walked out with a can of Skoal wintergreen packed the can and threw in a fatty. In santa barbara near my school I asked a clerk at a liquor store how much dip his store sold a day and he said they sold sixty to seventy tins a day and mentioned there was a woman who bought a can of cope lc every day. Most of the people here are ex-smokers and people from tons of different backgrounds smoke.

Who cares what political side people are on anyway I've learned you can never argue someone into changing their position on an issue.

I think most people would label themselves as independent. Most people despise the left and right wing. There are those who are so far brainwashed who blindly submit to their party, but I believe the majority are fed up with both sides of the aisle.

Joe234, when you start a thread around here you would be wise to keep it neutral or of your own ideas. Generalizing "most members" in the title of your post is ignorant. In the strictest definition of the term.

Start a poll? Ask everyone first? Making a claim or a statement of fact?

Joe234 you made a wise decision switching to snus. You are intelligent and inquisitive. Snuson and the fine people who are members here will help in your quest for snus info. Don't speak for most of us, you don't. I understand reading some of the threads here can stir the passion. Most people read, agree or disagree, and engage in civil discourse. The best course of action is to do the same.

Ignoring issues that irritate you is even better advice. We all must strive to subdue our passions and endeavor to speak honestly and truthfully as far as we understand the truth.

Making general claims to the views of most members is inflammatory at most, and inappropriate at the least.

Let's not divide this forum and cause mudslinging where nobody can win. But, while I am on this thread...I am neither. Non-political for the most part, but find most agreement in libertarianism.

While I agree that it is inappropriate to characterize other people's political views without evidence to back up the claim, I don't see anyone taking issue with some of the more inappropriate and hatefully expressed right-wing comments on this board. If you want to police threads in which people express political views, then do it fairly. Otherwise, perhaps we should ban political discussions altogether, rather than allow one side to dominate the discussion. After all, as has been noted above, this is a snus forum, not a political one.

I payed attention to politics for 8 years while Bush ruined this Country. I've payed attention to politics for 2 years while Obama has ruined this Country. I think I will just stop paying attention until this Country moves away from a "two" one party system.
