So I noticed a couple pages on the bulletin board in the lunch room at work.
I rarely go in there. I generally go out for lunch with the IT boys or run home to take a dump on home base.
One memo is regarding cell phone use at the office. LMAO. I immediately walk down the hall with my phone out, several times a day, more so since seeing this.
Second memo is regarding tobacco use. No smoking in or around the building. In your car is ok. The list is short and well balanced. Restrictive, but reasonable. Then I see the last line. No tobacco consumption is permitted in the building. Chewing tobacco or oral snuff are specifically prohibited. Failure to follow these guidelines will lead to progressive corrective action up to and including termination. HAHHAAAA.
I use snus all day long. I do go out of my way to use my snus ash tray and dump it into a used lunch bag before pitching it. We have a cleaning lady who thinks she's going to save the world by dumping our garbage cans and not changing the trash bags. So I spare her the horror of coming into contact with my slimy used portions.
I utterly refuse to not consume tobacco on the job. Fire me. I'll coast on unemployment while I sharpen up my resume. I have two rolls in my mini fridge with bottled water and Coca Cola in my office. lol
Does anyone else have a tobacco policy at work? How strict is it? What are the rules and consequences?
