Wow, I only pay an additional $5 for my internet service from AT&T. Some you seem to be paying way too much. I have had the faster $15 service, but was not using it, so I downgraded about 6 months ago.

                Mt latest...

I need to call Comcast to see if I can get cheaper service. $70 a month is a lot of stress. It was irritating when I had money, and more than irritating now.

Yeah, but comparatively, it's super fast service, and if I'm not mistaken you aren't getting the advantage of having tv service as well..... Which shouldn't matter..... but if you can deal with slower service then, i'd say go elsewhere....... Either that or call those bastards and tell them you have no interest in any other service than internet and you found somebody cheaper, so your either gonna stay with'em or go elsewhere......

When I first got Comcast, they were the only game in town. I think FiOS is in the area now, but I doubt their prices are any better. Also, Verizon kind of pissed me off. They were the reason I went to cable from dial up. Comcast does real good job of obfuscating their different plan tiers. I don't think they even advertise everything on the website, but I may be wrong. I need to really go through their site and see what I can find, and maybe call them up and threaten to go to FiOS. They seem to be liberal with giving discounts when you threaten to leave :^D

Seriously, a lil bit o whine goes a long way with most service industries, it's just the fact that we forget that until they jack rates on us or sumthin else that may piss us off at the moment......

Our programmer at work hooked everyone up with super slow, less then 1 mb/s to give more bandwidth for the internal servers. It is really ridiculous for a e-company to have to suffer like that.

comcast at home is excellent. About 20 mb/s and sometimes higher. Great customer service, 24 hours a day.

Had Qwest DSL twice and nothing but problems. It would just quit and I would have to plug and re-plug the modem, then call customer service, then go into a browser with some action-tech deal. Just a pain in the ass but it was about 10-15 dollars cheaper.
