    Coffee thread!

Has there been one? I dunno haven't checked. Start a new one, I say!

What is your favorite blend? Can't afford a favorite all the time? Then what do ya use? Grind? How do you prepare it? The nitty gritty details. I'll start.

My favorite and home go to is Starbucks Yukon blend. Has a very thick flavor that stays in your mouth long after the cup is empty. Whole bean and grind only before prepare. Medium to course grind. Using a rather nice stainless steel and glass press pot that I prepare over a low/medium heat.
Cream and sugar is completely dependent on the day and time and my choosing. Wife is very partial to the Daily Horizons blend. She buys whole bean but she just gets it all ground at the store. I don't like it but I can't argue!

Love black coffee. I like to keep coffee simple. I've been drinking the Duncan Doughnuts Hazelnut blend. It's pricey, but it is delicious. Yuban is my fav "can" coffee.

I like 8 O'Clock French roast, ground just before brewing. Black is the only way I drink it. I make an exception when I make my daughter cappuccino. I'll put a little bit of sugar, and frothed milk in mine too.

I don't drink much coffee anymore. I'm hooked on Monster Java and Rockstar Roasted. One of my favorites is Rockstar Light Vanilla:

Each 16oz can has 100 calories, 240mg caffeine, and all of the fancy "energy blend" stuff. If you don't count calories, I would recommend trying Monster Loca Moca and Mean Bean.

For every day coffee, I mix equal parts Cafe Bustelo Cuban espresso and a generic (Hannaford brand this time) medium roast coffee. It gives me a nice, rich, balanced and flavorful coffee.

I always use cold filtered water, heat it in a teapot until it is at a light boil and brew in my french press.

Coffee goes in the press first, then water, stir gently and then press after three and a half minutes. I get a little crema on top after pressing.

I never put soap in my press, I clean it with salt and ice.

I usually buy (1/4 lb at a time) good whole bean coffee for days off when I can grind it right before brewing and just sit and enjoy a different type of coffee.

I always drink my coffee black.

I am not snotty about coffee outside my home. I'll drink a cup of coffee from anywhere but, if I'm making it, I'm making it the way I like it.

            Mike

My favorite is the Organic Pacific Rim blend from whole foods. You get a 1.5 lb bag for about $12.00. I also like Sumatra a lot as well. Organic and Fair Trade Certified is a plus. I probably drink anywhere from 4 to 8 cups a day so I am a coffee freak. On weekends, I make a pot in the morning and a pot in the afternoon.

I almost forgot - I never contaminate my coffee with milk or sugar and the stronger the better! A Granit OP and a cup of extra strong coffee make my day.

We got a Bunn coffee maker recently, and we love it. 10 cups in 3 minutes. We've been drinking Torke lately, because it's roasted in Wisconsin, and it's very good. We grind our our own in a Capresso conical burr grinder.

Seein' 8O'clock praise. Might be half interested to give a bag a whirl. I get pissy with my coffee. I don't guzzle it down all day so the couple cups I make a day I need them to be worth it!
