    Freshly Ground Black People

An Australian publisher has had to pulp and reprint a cook-book after one recipe listed "salt and freshly ground black people" instead of black pepper.

Penguin Group Australia had to reprint 7,000 copies of Pasta Bible last week, the Sydney Morning Herald has reported.

The reprint cost A$20,000 ($18,000; £12,000), but stock in bookshops will not be recalled as it is "extremely hard" to do so, Penguin said.

The recipe was for spelt tagliatelle with sardines and prosciutto.

"We're mortified that this has become an issue of any kind, and why anyone would be offended, we don't know," head of publishing Bob Sessions is quoted as saying by the Sydney newspaper.

Penguin said almost every one of the more than 150 recipes in the book listed salt and freshly ground black pepper, but a misprint occurred on just one page.

"When it comes to the proofreader, of course they should have picked it up, but proofreading a cook-book is an extremely difficult task. I find that quite forgivable," Mr Sessions said.

If anyone complains about the "silly mistake", they will be given the new version, Penguin said.

Reprint the whole thing because people are "offended" over one typo?

If it had said "freshly ground white folks" there would have been no reprint, no news story, no big deal. Noone would have cared.

people need to get the fu*k over it already. Its been 150 gotdamn years now.

I asked Jackie if she was offended. She said no. Hell, she even laughed over a drink her friend termed n----r floats. Actually, I'm probably more likely to take offense to "racial" remarks than she is, and I'm white where she's black. Seriously, give it a rest.

why does everyone have to see a racist tone in everything? I didn't see it that way. It doesn't have to be a typo. It surely could have meant freshly ground black people. Like if you overcooked a person [of any color] they will turn black. Then all you need to do is toss em in a blender to grind them up. Nothing wrong with that, mate. And certainly not racist.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

I had no desire to buy another cookbook, but this typo actually makes me want to buy it! It's funny!! It would even be funny if it said "freshly ground white people," or "freshly ground black parrot." I ain't racist, I just get a kick out of typos! Yea, I really don't get out too often, it's the little things in life that make me smile.
