Yeah you get some hot headed used to be stars who take it far too seriously, but they are usually in the minority. Also, i need to get off my ass and start playing again as well, f uck I'm only 34 and hopefully far from dead....
What do you think about this bat? http://www.homerunmonkey.com/homerun...-mlb125ft.html
It comes in my size 33in. Did some research on bat sizes. If I don't find anyone to play with I'll just buy this bat and play with a buddy.
Maybe someone see us having fun and joins in. Get a little thing going
EDIT: It's the white sox logo right? Chicago?

That bats fine bud, It will more than do the job...... Heres a cool glove site http://www.ballglovewarehouse.com/de...=1457&pg=0&l=3 not sure if they ship international but check them out, everything they got is good but be careful the less expensive ones are usually for kids and titled prospect. Pick a few and let me know, I'll help you make a choice.....
edit: yeah chicago whitesox, that's my team forever and always..... Not many things in my life are a constant... but that is,,, it's a fact jack....

For bats, I'd try to use some sort of guideline like this. If you can find some people to play with, I'd hold off on buying a bat until you can try theirs out. Most likely they will let you use the bats I'd bet. You'll see all aluminum in the states really, except for at the pro levels. Traditionalism goes with the wood bat of course, classic baseball sound when hitting.

Those baseball gloves are all vinyl, which I wouldn't expect to see outside of like little little league. You'll definitely want a leather glove, and google some break-in methods. It'll last forever and can be almost an heirloom if treated well.
Shoes, around here you'd see baseball cleats, depending on what surfaces you'd be playing on.
To start, I'd just get a glove and some baseballs and find someone to play catch with. Once you get decent there, work on the pitching/batting to each other. You can get going with just one other person, and tbh you'll need to spend some time doing that before expecting to play with other people who may have been playing for a while.

I Don't think Dicks ships internationally, could be wrong. And He needs a glove a ball and a bat even to play with one other. Remember he's in another country so it's a far shot for him to find experienced players. He just wants to pursue it as a hobby,,,, and I say go for it.
Edit sorry just clicked your link and saw it was a buying guide so it's all good. I already told him to do some research and get the right length. Taper and shit I wouldn't worry about for a beginner. Just get a decent bat and go from there, I think budget and cost make a difference for him because of customs.

I know, the Dick's link gave guidelines for buying a bat, ie size, weight, etc.

I say go for it to, which is why I suggested starting with a glove and ball and playing catch...

Glove place, it was due to brand restrictions.
Hope I can try out a few bats from these guys that play, and then make a decision.
Also, thanks for all the links.. will be doing alot of reading now but I think my size is 33in. With hight & weight in consideration.
Thanks for helping me out, will update as soon as I get a reply from this guy who plays right here in my town.
