    Obama cutting lunar plans.

    http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/space/0...oon/index.html

I know we've all read this.

I was watching something on the plans to set up a colony on the moon, and it really bummed me out because it looks so cool, like such a good idea, but then I remembered that damn NObama and his crap-shoot agenda.

I partially see the logic in this, as the constellation project was wasting money and getting nowhere fast. But instead of finding a better way to do it, we just scrapped the whole thing.

I think space exploration will be good for the economy and the country and we should stay at the forefront of the space race, but it looks like for now we will have to wait for the private sector to deliver, or catch a ride with India or the Russians.

      Umm......

Perhaps we should worry first about finishing the Trillion dollar wars before we throw money at playing on the moon. Just saying.

Clearly, going forward, stuff has at get cut, and revenues need to be raised further if we are gonna climb out of this deficit. And I mean cut BADLY, and I mean some serious taxes are gonna be raised.

Everyone is gonna cry their temper tantrums but hopefully, one day, the adults are gonna win out.

I am 44, my first real memories are of Apollo and men on the moon. I am a huge support of that. But we have so screwed ourselves over by waging unfunded wars for almost a decade now. So with grea5t sadness, I fully support Obama's planned cuts.

Me??? I wish we had gone to the moon rather than go to war under false pretenses. That is just me maybe. But time to pay for it,

We have ALOT more to worry about than setting up a colony on the moon. I'm glad the project got canned. I remember when Bush was pushing NASA to send a man to mars by the year 2025; now that's what I call putting the tax payer's money to good use.

Yah, it would be sweet if Obama would have ended the wars instead of giving money to the banks and cutting the moon mission.

Meanwhile Iran just announced it is going to use it's new technology to build 2 new enrichment facilities inside mountains deep underground so they won't be subject to attack. So probably more wars to come.

Isn't it odd that we made it to the moon 40 years ago yet now can't go back despite tremendous scientific and technological advances? Should be a breeze these days, no?

Dude, you think it was all a sham? Like a Hollywood production and we never actually went to the moon? Wow, that'd be ****ed up. Maybe somebody should look into that, I dunno, maybe start a website or something.

I do believe the official moon footage is faked. I'm teetering on that we never went, as the "evidence" for that is compelling, or we did go, and was not allowed to actually see/know what was there. And there may be real reasons, that won't be said, as to why we won't go "back".

I WAS kidding btw, I don't buy the moon hoax theory. The USSR would have been all over the evidence if it were entirely fake.

That said, there's a fair chance that some things are being held back and some photos etc. may well be doctored.

Those interested in the hoax theory should really watch Capricorn One (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capricorn_One). Very interesting.

Well, I did read, that the moon trips stopped, right when Russia aquired the technology to follow us going to the moon.

I’m with Obama on this one. Why waist all that money building a moon colony when there is already a perfectly good one on Mars…. I mean surely they have an underground bed and breakfast somewhere up there that we could all visit.

Ask me and my guess is that the government already has some of the glossy photo brochures for several of these celestial B&Bs and is just covering them up. In fact, there is a very reliable web page (VERY reliable) that has proven beyond reasonable doubt that most Best Western ads are IN REALITY just Martian promo flyers THAT HAVE BEEN DOCTORED BY THE US GOVERNMENT in order to keep tourism dollars at home.
