That last one is so true. So many relatives/friends ask us where do we get our protein, and they're overweight. I'm just glad our 2 year old is on target weight wise, because so many people kept telling us she's going to waste away.
I tried going vegan for a while in order to lose weight and detox a bit. Didn't like the food much, but I have never felt healthier in my life. The constant haranguing from relatives going on about protein was ridiculous.
One thing I've learned with my daughter's issues with food sensitivity...people really don't understand what's in their food. When I tell my mom that my daughter can't have corn, my mom figures she can still drink Hi-C juice boxes, eat popcorn, etc. When I tell her she can't have milk, my mom figures she can still eat ice cream and cheese. My sister, dad, grandmother, and in-laws are all guilty of it too. They act like depriving our daughter of wheat, corn, and milk so she can feel healthy is a crime, all the while my nephew has eczema so bad on his arms and legs which allergenists have said comes from peach and milk allergies, and they still give it to him!
Unfortunately it seems you have to constantly remind them meat isn't the only place you can get protein!
Nobody seems to understand how hard it is to feed your kid with so many allergies. Screw them! The fact that your daughter is at a healthy weight means you're doing a great job. Kudos!
As for other sources of protein, I tried to make curried tempeh one time and I nearly barfed.
Actually I had to print the report. My client requires that I print two copies and ship them instead of that newfangled "email" whatchamadoodle.
Isn't technology grand?
It's a good thing .00001% of the population's smart, or we'd still be thinking of an easy way to move rocks around, and wondering how to make our food hot :^S
kick em and throw it at the sun
but really if we stop using paper all together whats gonna stop em from clear cutting forests for commercial/industrial building and uses

You bring up a good point. I demand we develop floating platforms for commercial and industrial buildings which use a constant stream of jet fuel to keep them afloat using multiple rockets and other burners. This will cut down on deforestation AND remove the need for complex and dangerous heating systems once the exhaust burns through the ozone!
Why the hell aren't more people thinking of this stuff?
Lol, the pic is awesome VB. We have the kind of bulliting boards at every bus stop in UCSC here and I would love to post some shit like this.
When I was a kid I had all kinds of sensistivity to foods but luckly now I could eat a dinosaur raw without any issues.
I have no problem with vegetarians because to each his own you know? But I hate the ones that preach about how wrong you are for eating meat. Humans were obviousely designed to be able to eat both, and since one is tastier than the other, I choose meat most of the time.
I just hate people that preach in general unless it's about politics. : )

Yep, and as a animal lover/friend, its kinda shame that their living spaces are getting destroyed, and then people are whining about wild animals in "THEIR" living space. Humans are fcked up. =P
Americans aren't overweight from eating meat. Humans have always eaten meat and it can be very nutritious.
Americans are fat becase of processed and synthetic foods, animals pumped with all kinds of unnatural steroids, and genetically modified crops (aka GMO)...
Most of what is out there isn't food at all - its some genetically modified, processed, synthetic food look-alike... thanks to the mega-corporation culture.
i have eaten meat all my life and i am not over weight its not what you eat that makes you over weight its how much you eat that makes you over weight!!
I have read some where that humans can't digest meat well. I believe it said that the meat basically rots in our bodies before it is pass threw the "hoop"

This may be true, but it's also kind of antiquated. Not all fat people sit around eating twinkies or stuffing their face. Their bodies just react differently to some of the many components of today's food.
There's also the issue of cost vs. nutrition. For $1.00 you can get a 1200 calorie bag of chips or a 120 calorie stack of fresh veggies. For 10 cents extra you can add 20oz to your soda, an estimated 400 calories in some cases.
It's sickening what gluttony exists in modern society (at all levels, not just the consumer level).

Humans have lived off of meat and a mixture of greens forever, this is why we are able to digest both, and why we are omnivores. Even our teeth accomodate this. there is no evidence that we were meant to eat just veggies.
