Look at all these anti-white racists!!!!
Controversy exists on both sides. It's part of politics. Calling someone hitler, a commie, or any other other slandering term is not new and is as american as apple pie.

Like I said, when a rep is on power dems will take to the streets to stem the tide of fascism, when dems are in power the reps take to the streets to stem the tide of communism. Or at least what each side believes is fascism/communism etc.
This is part of our check and balances system. Hopefully we end up somewhere closer to the middle.
I just don't get how everyone forgot the last 8 years and are now suddenly saying it is disrespectfull, racist, and innapropriate to call the president a nazi or say he should be killed or draw the jokers face on him etc. This is nothing new, and Obama is not the first president to get some heat. Bush pushed through what he wanted to much protest. Now Obama can choose to push through what he wants to much protest. Instead he has only continued what Bush has done and not pushed through what he himself wanted. Makes you wonder who's running the show.
Either way, people will always hate the president, it is natural to hate those in power or in charge of you in some way. Untill you end up being the one in charge, like Obama. it's not fair to expect no opposition.

President Obama even mentions it in "Audacity of Hope", where GWB came in after winning an insanely close 50-50 race saying "The people have spoken." He talks about how a leader must acknowledge the other 50% and try to work with them, not just work towards what you want. And even though President Obama won by a much bigger gap, he is still trying to reach across the aisle, to compromise (illegals and tort reform). And even still, he's getting nothing but backlash, taunts, and distrust.
In the end, he's going to have to either just go for it and push things through, hoping they stick and do well by our nation, or he's going to have to keep trying to placate and compromise, which will mean nothing changes. Either way, it sucks that our national leaders must behave this way.

While I see that that is how you see it, the way I look at it is that he came out saying that America, this is what you want! And it turned out that half of america didn't want it that way and was calling him out on it. Since he is a politician he sees this as a bad thing and says "congress, figure it out". The problem is that congress doesn't share his position on this, they instead turn around and vote down any piece of legislation the republicans try to introduce.
This way, Obama looks good like he is being bipartisan (like when he told the republicans who he says made the mess to shut up and get out of the way) and the dems in congress get what they want, all while denying the republicans any say into the process.
The only reason dems are even having a problem pushing things through is because not even the dems agree with Obama's plan and especially the blue dogs will not allow it to go through.
At no point did dems say "The other side has a different opinion, lets hear them out", instead they had opposition from their own party to the point where they knew they wouldn't be able to get enough votes if they didn't change it. Even today, they cannot agree on a bill that works yet.
I know you see it as dems reaching across the table to try and be bipartisan, but unfortunately there is very little bipartisanship on record to prove that. Dems won't allow republicans to have a say.
Illegals will still be covered unless there is some new enforcement mechanism that has been introduced that I am not aware of, and as for TORT reform I have to steal a quote from the gay community: i havn't heard anything but promises, have yet to see it in the legislation so I will have to wait and see.

The ball is in President Obama's court to reach out to Republicans if he wants a bipartisan bill on healthcare reform, House GOP Leader John Boehner (Ohio) said Monday morning.
Boehner told reporters that the president has not invited House GOP leaders to the White House for meetings on healthcare reform since the end of April.
Earlier this year, GOP leaders sent a letter to the president in May stating that they would like to work with the administration to find "common ground" on healthcare reform.
But the administration responded with a tersely worded letter indicating that they had healthcare reform under control.

If they want to "find common ground", then they need to work with the Congress and committee structure. That's how legislation gets passed.
If a final document is given to Obama to sign and he refuses to sign it due to Republican interests, then they want to talk and he refuses, this point will be a good one and I'll get all pissed off at Obama.
Boehner also says he can't find a single American who wants the public option. He's obviously disillusioned, a partisan hack, deaf, blind to surveys and polls, avoiding certain articles and news stories, singing lalalalalala with his fingers in his ears, playing fast and loose with the truth, or all of the above.
