As I have previously stated, cigarettes and snus are currently engaged in an epic fight for my soul, and although the cigs have won many battles,I hope snus is able to win the war.Although I lurk around here far more than I post,I just wanted to say thanks to all the snuson members for the inspiration.Reading about how you guys were able to quit the coffin nails with snus gives me hope. This is a great forum and it's been really helpful.Anyway, finished my last cig this morning, been on General Ekstra Sterk portions all day....wish me luck,I'll need it.
Thanks

Best of luck from me, too. GES is da bomb and a helpful ally.
I haven't had a cigarette in many days. I won't say I've completely quit, but I'm sure not much of a smoker lately.

Best of luck to you bro. My bet is that you will be sharing the same stories as many of the vets here in no time at all.
In fact, I think once you get past the little routines associated with cigs, it will get a lot easier.
I wonder if maybe fighting these routines by building new snus oriented ones will not be more helpful than just addressing it as a chemical issue.
Regardless, keep us postedWhen it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

As someone who recently quit smoking, I think you hit the nail on the head with that comment. Well said!Originally posted by Snusdog

Welcome and good luck!
I quit smoking after over 20 years a touch over a year ago with snus. I did mine cold turkey. One day I smoked, the next I snused and that was that but there was a few month transition period that was pretty rough.
Take it a day at a time and don't kick your ass if you smoke. The more you snus, the less you will want to smoke and over time it will transition from one to the other.
I always looked at it like this, I quit smoking, not nicotine. I traded an incredibly unhealthy habit for one that is less harmful, but I am still addicted to nicotine, which I am fine with.

A guitar teacher once said to me something like, "don't even try to break a bad habit. Just learn a new good one over the top of it."
It was kind of an a-ha moment.
