PC: More powerfull customizing/tinkering abilities. Takes some experience to be able to make it run perfectly but anyone who grow up in the computer age should know how to do this instinctively.

Macs are prettier and my wife's new one has a screen that is just amazing, but they are so expensive.

      For example:

My mom just bought a brand new top of the line customized laptop that is ahead of most things on the market for 500$

my wife just spent 1,300 for the same processing power, but it was a mac.

Other than being prettyer than PC, I still prefer Windows even thoguh ti is full of bugs. probably because I grew up on it.

I'm glad Mac is making this big comeback and maybe someday i'll buy one for myself, but they need to loer the prices, shit is too expensive.

As I guy, I am not willing to pay extra for pretty.

I never update my anti-virus program and I don't get any viruses despite watching ludicrous amounts of porn and downloading pirated software.

If Apple managed to bring their prices down some, I'd be interested. As it is, for any price point, I can get a Mac that's okay, or I can build my own computer that would be significantly more powerful, and just as stable at the same price or less. Also, I do hate the touch pad they have. The new mouse is nice, though.

If they were priced equally to PC's I think they would gain a lot of market share. I would evenbuy one for myself. The new mouse is cool, I am waiting for them to ship them in the next couple of weeks so I can surprise my wife with one.

MS looks like open source compared to Apple :^D
?What parts of Windows is Open source?

OS X ships with over 200 open source components. http://www.apple.com/opensource/
No parts are are os in Windows AFAIK, but MS lets you customize the O/S as you see fit. With Apple you do things their way or GTFO. You can't even get rid of that ugly assed silver theme on a Mac :^S

Macs easy to use? Not really. It works the same as Windows, but the stuff under the hood is hidden better(worse?) so it's harder to do things outside of the norm. All a Mac is, especially these days is a neutered PC in a pretty case.

Yah but the magic mouse is way cooler, therefore, I have deleted all recolection of said other mouses from my memory.

What were we talking about again?

So I'm on my second Imac third total mac and have only ever owned one pc. Nothing but good customer service ever. Till yesterday. My mighty mouse track ball was f#ck$d. So I call apple set it up to go to the mac store and swap it out, even had the mac tech support contact the store and verify they had one in stock and make an appointment. So I get there and they inform me they do not have one in stock. So after ten minutes of the Mac Genius throwing out useless solutions to me I say "hey why don't you just give me a magic mouse?" Oh no we can't do that. "Can I talk to the manager?" said I. "I guess" said the Mac genius with a shrug. And he disappears into the back. I am rather hot at this point but keeping my composure. 5 minutes pass and the Mac genius appears with something in his hand. Oh what could it be? I thought. So he hands it to me and informs me they don't normally do this but here is a replacement magic mouse. Elated I take it, shake his hand and wish him a merry Christmas and happy New Year. Now I am loving this bad boy. Apple FTW

i get 3 computers for the price of my macbook pro..

Windows 7, OS X, and a unix terminal...

that makes the price seem cheap.

I am thinking about retracting my statements about PC, well Windows specificly. I have had it. I am one of the (probably 90%) of windows users that cna't keep the thing virus free or running smoothly after a couple of years.

I am trying to upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04 right now and hopefully that fixes it. The mac I own is cool, but theres somethign I just don't like about it. Maybe it's because i'm more of a believer in openness, which Mac is not.

If Ubunut works I will elave both MS and Mac for good. Mac is just too expensive for what they deliver, plus they don't have all the good software. Either way, I feel that in 2009 the whole computer thing should be much more "minority report" and less lame than they are currently. And where the hell are my damn flying cars?

                        BZZZT! WRONG!

I am queer as a 3 dollar bill and detest the Mac interface. It's Debian Lenny on a PC for me, with LXDE as my preferred left-handed desktop. I haven't used Windows since Win98, having switched to Linux in March of 2001.
