The Klan is largely anti-Israel, and the Reps are extremely pro-Israel. The Klan began as a faction of the Dem party. But I think the Dem party has attracted too many of the black and hispanic racialists, and panders to them, and extreme "progressives", that with our 2 party duopoly, maybe they, like most of us, side(somewhat) with the better of 2 evils, or what they think is.

And lots of Klan members are Republicans, but that has zero implications for the Republican party. What's your point?

I'd like to note that the KKK was started by democrats and it was the republicans who fought against slavery in the civil war. And martin luther king was a republican. Yet everyone calls republicans racist because we believe immegrants should obide by our laws.

Now the REAL reason we started the civil war was of course more shady in reality but that's another topic.

The way they started, the way they were in the 60s, and the way they are now are nothing alike. Democrats and Republicans have seriously switched roles over time. St. Reagan was the start of today's modern Republican party, with the neoconservative view and strong Christian leanings being the new standpoints. Everything has switched, from views on religion to education to demographic.

Calls of racism don't come from immigration. Tea parties where you are are a lot different than tea parties in rural America.

I'm not calling everyone racist who disagrees with Obama, so please don't think I am. But for every two ACORN dancers...oops, I mean thugs, that you point out, there are dozens of racist signs held up at town hall meetings.

I do seriously disagree with liberals who condemn every single argument as racist. It's a ridiculous way to debate. But you can't deny it exists. I'm a quarter Lebanese with a Lebanese last name, and I can't tell you how many times people have started going absolutely NUTS on arabs, towelheads, dune coons, sand n***ers, etc. before I tell them I'm part arab.

For more, watch Blazing Saddles. =D I just did yesterday and laughed my ass off at some of the similarities.

Agree or disagree, this is my last post on this thread as well. Was nice chatting with you on this stuff.

Racism is real, but is not the same as it was in the 50's. I think it is used too often as an excuse when someone doenst agree with you. Your right, it is real, and both parties have it, and it is part of human nature to not like those who are different from oneself.

I think it is time for this thread to officially die lol.

Never seen any, but then some people have no clue as to the definition of "racist".

Those are just funny. Nothing any worse than what the left said on their signs about Bush.

Bigoted? Yes. Prejudiced? Yes. Racist? Hardly.

We were warned way back before the town hall meetings became so controversial that the other side would show up to cause trouble. And many did, some carrying signs that were meant to cause the kind of reaction noted above. Sorry, it won't work. Neither will violence (are you listening unions?).

Angry about the protests? Angry about Americans questioning your guy and making fun of him? Get used to it. What goes around, comes around. We put up with it (and much worse) every day for eight years.

I stopped reading where the Obama anti-capitalism slant was thrown in.
When one looks at all the Wall Street backing that helped get him into
office, to even imply this administration is anti-capitalism is crazy.

Freakin' talking heads can say anything and have an audience.

                          Bat

Well guys im gonna throw a comment in here as a long time listener and follower of Glenn Beck. I have to say I met the man almost 7 years ago shortly after 9/11 and he could not have been a nicer person. Many people I believe dislike him because he is always on the cusp of being completly outrageous but it is usually in a slightly sarcastic manor. I used to love when he yelled at callers to Get off his phone. While I certainly have a hard time agreeing with his views on religion and a few other topics I find him to be one of the more interesting commentators out there.
