Welcome to a fellow Ottawan! I thought I was the only snusser here in the nation's capital... Let's compare notes on shipping charges and customs duty if any!

Aye, your first few snus will burn like mad but after a few days they'll just pop in there and you'll barely notice them. Welcome to the club, dude 8)

Welcome aboard. It only took me a very short while to acquire a taste for the Swedish snus'. Camel was my first introduction to snus, and it's highly flavored, without much tobacco taste. When I first got my Swedish snus I was a little put off because the tobacco flavor's more prominent, and is definitely salty. After a couple of days or so I really started to enjoy the subtlety of the Swedish blends. Give it some time, and be sure to try plenty of brands. They range from weak to strong, highly flavored, to not so flavored. With experimentation you should find something you really enjoy. I started off with the Northerner 24 can sampler. That gives a good idea of the range of flavors you can get with snus.

    About me

Just started snussing and realiizng quickly it is an acquired taste. :? I have ulcerative colitis and smoking/nicotine relieves it. Basically quit smoking, have been on a nic patch for over a year and decided snus would be a better way to get the healing nicotine. Too bad I have to mail order - no snus on the market here yet, although there is talk. Meanwhile I have to get comfortable and used to the snus. I find the taste and sensation of it in the mouth a bit overwhelming but I :? am only 4 hours into this, my box arrived from Northerner this afternoon.
I am an applied linguistics professor and have lived all over.
