Maybe so. There are certainly people that don't get hangovers simply because they don't drink enough to get to that point. There are also some people that can get just as drunk as the next guy but not have the negative effects the next morning.

The suppressed smoking plant, as tom put it, is much better for people anyway.

lol, not our intention, although i certainly don't envy those that do have to endure hangovers. This, 'gift', i don't know what you would call it, would have been better used on someone who enjoys drinking more than i.

I had a Hooker Last night.

            Thomas Hooker Brewery
            Saratoga Springs, NY

i tried the Octoberfest. I had a hankerin' for Octoberfest as it's that time of the year. This one isn't bad but doesn't hold up to Beck's or Sam's. It seems a little thin to me. The flavor is there, but it's a lighter body than I would like. It's nice for a change of pace and quite carbonated. I had 2.

I also got a Fisherman's Pumpkin Stout. This one is from Gloucester, Dr. Foster. It's a MA brewery that has a nice flavored stout here. Again, it's a little thinner than I would like but the flavor is spot on. I don't get any chocolaty notes from it but the pumpkin is nice and balanced. It's definitely there, but not overpowering and the one I had for dinner tasted good so I had one more for dessert.

Watou Trippel is so good. I've been spending too much money on St. Bernardus beers lately. I love me some delicious Belgian 20 proof beers, especially after giving up hard alcohol a month ago... So far so good. Hard A is nothing but trouble for me; big bottles of it in particular.

Roo, they just opened a new place down here, called World of Beer, no food served, no hard alcohol, just about 65 taps, and over 500 varieties in bottles from every country in the world. Live music on Fri-Sat, and they have a menu book for every take out joint in the area. You can have any food you want delivered to your barstool. They also provide the appropriate glass for every beer they serve. I think i just found my second home.

One of my friends is a liquor rep and gave me a bottle his friend had given him. He told me it should be good. It had a $3.99 tag on the 11.2 fl. oz. bottle. Drinking it now. Reinaert Flemish Wild ale. I'm impressed. It's 9% but it's got a really nice smoothness to it. Nice bright complex burst that goes away without leaving any annoying flavors.

Magic Hat Hex is possibly the best Oktoberfest beer I have ever had...and I have had many.

Lot's of ice, a healthy pour of Canadian Club, 3/4 shot of sweet vermouth, dash of angostura bitters.

                            Let sit for 5 minutes.

Classic Manhattan. Very good drink, I never put quite that much vermouth in mine tho. I also love a good old fashioned at times.

It's about time to start drinking today! I'll have my usual start off with a shot of Jager and pound Newcastles

A couple days ago I tried out a pizza joint that had been recommended. I didn't know they also brew their own beer. The IPA was outstanding! Pizza was good too.
