I ride a Hyosung GV250. Hyosung is Korean, up until about 12 years ago, they were an offshore engine builder for Suzuki, then decided to become Korea's 2nd bike maker.

It is a 250 that puts out 28 HP, about 11 more than any Japanese 250 cruiser. I can ride her at 85 mph for 10 hours straight (and have) and still have more left over if needed.

If you are interested in learning more, come over to my other home... www.alternativecruisers.com. I am all over there as well as here.

    Pretty bike btw.

I'd post pics but I'm lazy
Sage I noticed you too are a full-time rider, am I correct? nothing like chugging along I-40 in the middle of the night when it's 15 degrees outside

Yeah, I ride all year around. I don't own a cage.

I have good winter gear, plus heated gloves and liner from Gerbing if I need to do any long distance riding. Coldest for me last winter was only about 20 degrees. But I did ride in snow one day.

I know I don't "deserve" to post on this thread, but for what it's worth I am also a 365 day-a-year rider. Rain, sleet, snow, whatever. The reason I say I don't belong is this: (she's my baby though, I love to ride it)

              looks cool...for a scooter.
jk you're still a step above a cager my friend, and you could probably laugh any biker to the bank with how much gas money you save.
I've got just about everything I need to pull off riding year round. I haven't done snow yet, but I did ride when it was still a little icy out once. It was lots of fun, playing dodge-the-ice-patch.
Once read about a guy who has ice chains for his bike tires...puts almost 80,000 miles on one of his bikes every year.

Roo, what is that, and where can I get me one?!? That thing is bad ass!

We live in a small town, and that would be perfect to cruise around on!

They Hyosung is a very underated bike IMO. I've rode a friends 250, lots of oomph for a 250, nice build and look to it, very solid bike.

The Magna is one of the best bikes Honda ever made, that 750 V4 will flat out haul ass, even the new 1800 VTwins Honda's pimpin now cant hold a candle to it. My dad has a 99 Magna with a side car, I love the bike, just not his side car.

I got a steal on the FZ6, retail was 7,200 and I jew'ed them down to 5500 back in december, its an 08 model sitting next to several 09's that were on the showroom floor.

I traded in my 04 1100 shadow on it, I loved the bike but it was killing my back. They gave me 2k over blue book for it.

I ended up paying 2400 cash for the FZ6. That deal freed me up to put the lugage(sp) on for 1200, and the custom seat from Top Saddlery (france) for 400. So all in all, counting only the blue book for my trade in, i've got 5k into it now.

I really like what you've done to that bike. I used to ride an old Yamaha Virago, my first bike. She was over 20 years old, me and my dad rebuilt it from the ground up, taught me everything I know about bikes.
Sadly, a mishap with a bolt on the case cover led to an oil leak akin to the Exxon Valdez. We had to sell her to a machinist who figured he could build a fatter gasket to compensate.
If I have the money and find that bike again, I can't say with any certainty that I wouldn't buy it.
I love my magna, though. Great speed, great gas economy, I've got good saddlebags and a winter shield. Couldn't be happier with it.

If I didnt live out in the sticks, i'd own a scooter. but it's an hours drive for me to get to work. The interstate is no place for a top speed of 60mph.

but around town... there golden. Super gas milage, and tons of fun.

Get one Badfish! They are only 2K plus tax and some fees... Mine was about $2500 out the door. It has a 1.1 gallon tank and gets near 100 mpg, so I put about $3 a week max into gas. And its only 50cc lol, so top speed is 43 mph -- it definitely has no place on the interstate! I drive it everyday to work on a freeway that has a speed limit of 40, changing to 50 half-way thru. It was a little scary the first few times but now I just don't even care. I stay to the right and encourage folks to pass me as if I were a big slow truck. I don't have to go that way to work, it's just the fastest route It is great for around town, and loads of fun for rallying through traffic, free to park, etc. I really look forward to one day getting a real bike, though, when I can afford it. Thanks for not trashing my little Ruckus on this sweet-bike thread!

I'm gonna seriously look into it Roo! I just really dig that stripped down, no frills look! Plus 50cc is all I need to cruise around town!
