The Federal Reserve is a private bank whose policies have forever shown nothing but a priority to keep bankers and investors floating in liquid cash. They expand the money supply by lowering interest rates and stimulating growth and consumer spending, but then raise rates to contract the money supply, causing debts to become heavy liabilities. In contraction cycles, people end up paying higher amounts in interest, pumping wealth back into the banks and markets, and if they default on their loans, the banks seize their real assets, consolidating their grasp on the products of working society. It's the banks' way of enticing people to work hard and produce things of value, and then to later take those things of value away from them. Criminal shit and anything but free-market stuff.
Hey I was wondering if you saw that documentary Zeitgeist? I know some bits in it aren't 100% valid...but what do you make of part 3 (specifically the federal reserve)...if you seen it. pretty interesting movie.
Yeah, I've seen Zeitgeist. As you say, there are some stretches in the film, but it contains a lot of accurate information as well. I probably spend more time than most normal, healthy people do reading and studying international politics and macroeconomics, lol.
Hey anybody here seen the video "Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers"??
I just saw it on Google Video. Saw a link for it on a dutch news site. It subtitled in dutch but the spoken english and english subtitles when there's arabic being spoken is clearly visible.
Maybe there's an English-only version but I didn't look for it.
This video has got to break your heart. The way big corporations are brazenly stealing taxpayer Dollars by asking $100 per soldier laundry bag (and returning the clothes still dirty), ordering hundreds of computers and dumping them in a fire pit and declaring them "damaged", ordering brand new trucks but no replacement parts so they have to be destroyed on the side of the road if it gets a flat tire, putting contractor employees up in 5-star hotels in Dubai and Kuwait and giving them Escalades and Hummer H2s which are leased for $7000/mo. etc.
Real sad. The first half is mostly "meeting the families of lost ones" but the real meat is mostly in the second half.
"Endgame" and the "The Dark Side" are very good for those uninformed about 9-11 and Iraq. All interviews are with former people of power (CIA, Cabinet, etc.) . Enjoy.
The best source I've found on 9/11, at least on the non-scientific-analysis side (which is the most important, really), is Mike Ruppert's book "Crossing the Rubicon : The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil". 700 pages, a thousand footnotes - it's dense and extremely damning!
I should have explained a little better. The PBS documentaries above are more about how The White House dealt with 911, and how Iraq has been handled from a political standpoint.

Hijacking Catastrophe is another one might want to watch on White House's usage of 9/11.
However, I've come to dislike it as it seems that the more 'palatable' stuff that talk about 9/11 in regards to the white house, tend to softball, and therefore, whitewash the 9/11 scenario. It hints at certain things, and then continues on as if it's just a little 'weird'...not a clue to anything more.
To me there's nothing but pure guilty demeanor regarding 9/11 on the part of the white house.
431 days before an investigation started? 15 million (or so) for the commission? No public testimonies of Bush/Cheney under oath? a Bush insider running the show? nobody fired or punished? no mention of the lead hijacker receiving funds from a Pakistani official?
What kind of horse shit is that?
Seeing as the retaliation came before the investigation, they were working with conclusions first and only looked to support those conclusions.
9/11 screams RED FLAG galore. I'm so sick of people thinking that you're a 'conspiracy loon' if you suggest "hmm I don't like how 9/11 was handled, so many weird, alarming things"
despite the fact it was a conspiracy regardless...19 hijackers.
"conspiracy" anymore is about as useful as gay to mean happy. conspiracy now apparently means "either ONLY blaming the government upon a whim, or any other unpopular idea about a popular topic, even if actual conspiracy isn't afoot".
the only time people at large begin to consider the term 'conspiracy' for it's actual term is when the government uses it in a court case.
The reason I rant about this bastardization of our language is because it is being used as a means to attack people who have questions and want answers that aren't being given..questions that may lead into some hairy, disturbing shit, but ones that need answered nonetheless. Yet the term used in a derogatory sense makes absolutely no coherence whatsoever to being relevant when one actually deconstructs what 'conspiracy theorist' means, in contrast to the conspiracy theorist of the other side of the story. despite this, it continues.
I've even had people go 'man you guys really gone over the ledge' after I explain that 19 hijackers equals a conspiracy. i mean i repeat myself several times, and it takes forever to sink in. then when they finally get it they sidestep the issue and change the subject to something else as if they're immune to being an automaton of ridiculous demogogic usage of simple words.
this is just retarted. just because some "dark horse" has a slight possobility of winning!!!! i have allready decided that he is in my top 3 choices if not my only choice.
Well, you know what - he's said that he won't run as an independent in the presidential race, but at the rate he's going, even if he gets shafted out of the Republican primary by some sore loser tactics like this he'll have such a gigantic support base that we (ie: the Ron Paul Revolution that's going on with or without him  ) may be able to convince him to run anyways. If people keep pouring cash into his coffers at the rate they have been, I mean...why not?! They can play partisan nonsense with crap inside the party but they can't *not* let people vote for the president they want!
Thought I'd let you guys know I'm going down tomorrow to register as a Republican so I can vote for Ron Paul in the primary. He's the only one that seems authentic to me.
Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul’s newsletters vilify Israel, according to a major U.S. political magazine.
One implied that Israel was responsible for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.
The New Republic found vitriolic language toward Jews, blacks and homosexuals after sifting through the libertarian-leaning Texas congressman's newsletters from the 1980s and 1990s.
“The newsletters display an obsession with Israel; no other country is mentioned more often in the editions I saw, or with more vitriol,” the magazine's James Kirchick wrote. “A 1987 issue of Paul's Investment Letter called Israel 'an aggressive, national socialist state,' and a 1990 newsletter discussed the 'tens of thousands of well-placed friends of Israel in all countries who are willing to wok [sic] for the Mossad in their area of expertise.' "
Regarding the implication that the Mossad may have been behind the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, Paul wrote, "Whether it was a setup by the Israeli Mossad, as a Jewish friend of mine suspects, or was truly a retaliation by the Islamic fundamentalists, matters little.”
Jesse Benton, Paul's campaign spokesman, told The New Republic that Paul had given "various levels of approval" to the statements presented in the newsletter.
"A lot of [the newsletters] he did not see. Most of the incendiary stuff, no," Benton said.
The press knows people don't fact-check... this is just a propaganda piece, timed to smash Paul on the NH primary date. There were a few newsletters that went out decades ago by a few bad writers who were working for him. He was practising medicine at the time and did not edit those issues. When they were brought to his attention, he fired those who wrote them. They are the only thing that the establishment media have been able to find to tar him with and they have brought them up time and time again, obviously aware of the circumstances of their origins and obviously calculated to inflict political damage on a candidate who scares the crap out of them and their grip on the seat of power. Paul issued a statement about these on his website absolutely denouncing the ideological content but accepting full responsibility for his neglect to properly edit his newsletter at the time.
His positions on Israel are very clear - he supports withdrawal of all american troops, financial, and military support... just like every other country around the world. An end to US meddling in the Middle East.
WASHINGTON - Looking toward the 9/12 Tea Party events in Washington, DC, Libertarian Party executive director Wes Benedict issued the following warning...
