There's nothing wrong with being young and idealistic, not to mention full of opinions. And I wasn't slagging you for your age, but your post was almost exactly something I would have written when I was 16, 17 years old. That's why I was curious as to how old you were, it wasn't a put down by any means, nor do you have to answer the question.

No, I didn't take it the wrong way at all. It just surprises me that you've never seen the picture, it's one of the most well known viral images to have graced the internet in recent years. If you enter "nerd" as a google image search, it pops up three or four different times on the first page of hits.

And now, to sum up my feelings about this thread:




I'm through here. Never meant to cause a disruption, I just asked someone how old they were. If that was taken as a jab about their beliefs, or if I was implying that anyone here was being childish, I apologize. All I was saying was that it was the same view I had about things when I was younger. I'm 27 now, and the weight of the world has jaded my idealistic youth fantasies into something a little more realistic, so I just wondered how young the poster in question was. Asking an honest question shouldn't have provoked such an irate response from anyone unless they're that touchy about who they are, and if that's the case then you shouldn't take part in a politically themed thread.

People Bash Hitler but we profited greatly from all the advances in scientific research he had done (at the expense of the jews but so what), when we won and confiscated all of that nazi booty we came up pretty good. Also, lets clarify some misconceptions you have of the apparent socialist Obama administration. There is no discussion of socialized gov't run/paid health care. He wants to open the healthcare plans that congress have available to them to the general public. It is still a privatized system. Additionally, if you have the luxury of healthcare right now, you can keep your current plan. Educate yourself before you spread false information buddy. There are no plans for government to run healthcare, period, and fact...

Also, you mention that you were in the 82nd airborne I believe, correct me if I'm mistaken. Guess what paid for you and other troops which I support? Your hated re-distribution of wealth, I.E. taxes.
