All great...but don't forget about Kelly's Heroes. I first watched it with my dad when I was a little kid. Clint Eastwood, Donald Sutherland, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, it doesn't get much better than that.

I kind of lump both Dirty Dozen and Kelly's Heros together because of the great, colorful all star cast.
Hehehe... some of my classmates had to reenact scenes from Full Metal Jacket before parade knob year. Hilarious as hell. The upperclassmen got a kick out of it and got into the scene with the smallest guy acting as the SDI. Just imagine someone 5'6" weighing 120 soaking wet chewing out an upperclassman 4 years older who's 6'0" and 200lbs dry.
What, Mirace At St. Anna? I remember in the theater at the end of the movie before the lights came on, you could see all the guys trying to dry up there tears before they did.
Since Band of Brothers is excluded (but if you have not seen it, buy it, best thing ever) these would be some of my favorite war movies:
All Quiet on The Western Front (either, but the original was better)
A Bridge Too Far
The Lost Battalion
Ride with the Devil
The Patriot
Blackhawk Down
U-571
Longest Day

I just watched 'Taking Chance' on HBO. Not really an action-war movie, but it was definitely a good movie, had me in tears through most of it. Anyway, my husband makes me watch war movies all the time with him and I'm not a big fan of all the drama and violence, but I did enjoy watching "Tigerland..." Colin Farrell was in it.
