Go to accounts>manage.
click add.
choose IRC from the protocol drop down menu
enter the screen name you want to use
for server type irc.freenode.net
click save

go to Buddies>join chat.
choose the irc account from the drop down
type ##snus for the room.

Snuffle...under accounts choose manage accounts, then click add, then select IRC for protocol. Choose a username and put irc.freenode.net in for the server.

if you're using windows install mIRC here: http://www.mirc.com/get.html
install it, run it and for the server choose freenode (irc.freenode.net)
then type "/join ##snus" (no quotes).
