This thread gave me an opportunity to check and clean and make sure I have all the info on these [model and serial#s etc.]. So this is my stash, from my safe. There may be another 1 or 2 laying around tho. I did sell some a few years back and this is whats left.

Add in about 30,000 rounds [guns ain't no good without ammo], dozens of high capacity clips and alot of acessories and thats about it. 8)

Wow, PP ... that makes my trusty old rubber bands and paper clips look like, well, rubber bands and paper clips.

I like the tiny gun. And the one to the left of it. And the old school revolver.

Thanks guys. I'd have to look at them. I didn't note the guage on those couple of old ones that are from the 1800s and should not be used. They just set there taking up space in the safe. I think its time to sell some guns tho. But only about 6 or 7. I need to sell a few thousand rounds of ammo too. Hell I got 3000 rounds of 308 ammo and I don't even have a 308. lmao.

holnrew, That 357 magnum isn't that old maybe 20 years. I have four different lenghts parrels for that one. Up to 10 inch. Its a cannon.

How do you like the sweet faternal twin mausers. Those are hard to come by nowa days. Those are about 40 years old. And only have about 300 rounds thru em each.

yea. I love that semi-auto .30-06 lol. The bolt action to the right of it is an old Rock Island Arsenal .30-06.

                  Parrots is gangsta!
Beautiful family of firearms my man!
My buddy and I have really been into aftermarket mods for the Ruger 10/22 lately, you can do some really great stuff relatively inexpensively and it makes a day at the gun club very cheap ammo-wise.
I think my next gun might be the 5" Springfield XD in 45acp.

PP, nice collection. Take real good care of those Mausers. They are going up in price daily. Real good looking doubles also.

Pony, XD's ROCK! Especially if you like the 1911 grip angle.

I'm confused about guns, as long as they stay in the right hands they're very good for self defence and hunting (I'd love to go on a pheasant shoot one day), but how can you be sure they stay in the right hands?

I used to be pretty anti-gun, but an episode of "30 Days" changed my mind about it.

Yea I know the Mausers are worth like 6 times what I paid for them. When they started going up I bought the Remmington High Power 9mm to use so I could save the Mausers. Before I even put one round thru the High Power they quit making them so I put it away too. Now its worth alot more than I paid. So I had to buy the Beretta for my walking around piece.

Holenrew, That little 25 cal pistol with the pearl handles was given to me by my dad. That pistol [and a shotgun] were given to my dad by Lucky Luciano. Sometimes Lucky had to dispose of "used" firearms, for obvious reasons. 8)

Mine stay locked in the safe or connected to my body. No real worries about them getting in the wrong hands. I can't speak to anyone elses storage habits. The bad guys have plenty of guns, they really don't need mine. Which is why I have guns. My family WILL be protected.
Plus the U.S. is a different culture. A generation ago, a kid or adult in rural areas NOT owning a gun was odd. It has changed a lot since then. I have owned and been around firearms my whole life. Never lived in a city until ten years ago. I didn't know you weren't supposed to own guns. I enjoy target shooting and hunting. My guns have never been shot at another human being. At least by me. I pray they never will. I do have a few WW2 weapons that may or may not have.

                            PP who is Lucky Luciano?

TBD you sound very responsible. I understand your point about it being a cultural thing, it has pretty much always been that way in the USA, I think people here have difficulty understanding that and presume the way things are there are how things would be if gun ownership was made legal here overnight. Well shotguns and some types of rifles are legal here, but not widely owned.

Do you need to have a license to own a gun?

Lucky is a well known gangster similar to Al Capone.

In the state of Illinois its necessary to have a gun permit.
Either way its illegal to have a handgun in Chicago. Thats one reason I don't live IN chicago.

All firearms should be kept in a secure and locked location. However, due to the nature of my business I need to keep several hanguns ready and stashed in convienent locations.

Oh wow! So that's a little piece of history!

I didn't realise that handguns weren't allowed EVERYWHERE.

Thanks guys, this is pretty interesting.
