Hey man I’m an avid paint baller myself and I couldn’t help but reply, I’m sure you don’t need to hear this things from me :P but some tips might help you and out improve your game should you need it.

1. Ditch the stock. Fire arms have stocks to control recoil in rapid fire. Paintball guns have no recoil, thus they never need to be shouldered. What a stock will do is add length to your gun, stopping you from getting in to a tighter bunker, and prevent you from being able to quickly shift firing lines in tight quarters (like around trees). Stocks might look cool, but they hurt your performance. I know h stop is folding, when unfolded it will hurt your playing, when folded it will ad weight and bulk. I would lose it.

2. I see that you are adding an expansion chamber, so I assume you are shooting CO2 and not compressed air. With a reactive trigger you should be getting around what 6-8balls a second? I donno where you live but if you play anywhere were it gets below 65 degrees, with your rapid fire the expanding C02 will almost instantly freeze the valves of your gun and you will start shooting snow. After that you will get erratic fps and you won’t be able to hit anything for the life of you. I suggest going straight to compressed air/nitrogen. If you stick with co2 get expansion chamber right away. Another benefit is that an expansion chamber will add stability to your fps and you will be able to chrono with the refs at a higher rate, because it will be steady.

3. Do not get a scope. The effective range of a paintball un is about a 150 yards a little longer with the flatline, just sighting down the barrel will be more effective than using a scope, because it will take time for you to find your target looking down a magnified straw. Plus you will develop “tunnel vision” by using a scope and will not be aware o anything else going on around you. A paintball fun isn’t accurate enough to use a scope anyway. Paintballs guns and guns are very different and what works for one doesn’t work for the other. The best thing to do with a paintball gun is the remove all the sights, aim down the barrel, and fire in 5 round bursts adjusting as you go, this way you will be able to switch targets every quickly, have a good picture of the whole field, and in a 5 round burst you are sure to hit.

4. The flatline is a good barrel but not for all occasions. In heavy win or with cheap/old paint it will fire like a cartoon barrel and the pain balls with zig and zap unpredictably, I’m sure you have experienced this. Im not sure how it fits on the gun in your model (I have a t-98). What I did it throw away the shroud all together; it was just plastic adding dead weight. In my model the flatline sits in a ring and the ring screws in to the gun like a regular barrels then tightened with Allen ranches when aligned. What I do is I check conditions when I get to the field. If it’s windy, cold, or I have cheap paint I remove the flatline (without a shroud it takes 30 secs for me) and throw on a labco bigshot. Because as im sure you know with a flatline you eather have an awesome day, or it’s a complete mess.

Well that’s my two cents, hope some of it helped.

Btw please don’t few this as an attack, im simply tiring to help out a fellow paintballer. And avoid some of the mistakes I made when I first started.

Yes I do shoot w/ Co2. I live in Georgia and tend to play mainly between GA and FL, so the freezing effect is nil. I do plan to go to a HPA setup eventually, but it is not a top priority.

As far as the stock goes, you are also correct. It is purely astetic, but I like it. This is actually my first upgrade EVER! I've been playing with a Tippmann Model 98 (not custom) for years in bone stock form.

As far as the scope goes, good advice. I will nix that idea.

And with the flatline, This one has yet to give me any issues with the firing, but the install on the A-5 flatline is as simple as loosening the front 2 screws and giving it a twist (even with the shroud on). I also have a straight barrel that I keep the original barrel adapter on so I can quick-swap if needs be. I only have one game in with the new flatline setup and I am not disappointed yet, but the verdict is definitely still out.

as with a scope for automatics or semis bad idea, unless you shoot very conservatively, plus from what ive seen flatlines shoot paintballs flat not accurately, if you had a regular top end barrel a red dot might be an upgrade for you BUT only for long distance shots. The red dot is useless even for me from 0-50 feet (most encounters), with my experience with "1 shot kills" using a red dot i can hit ~4-6 inch target using CO2 cartridges from about 100 feet. Furthest confirmed kill (AND WIPE WTF!) is about 100 yards limited due to the fact that the balls just wont break! (took 4 shots and two hits to get him out)
