Snusforum.com problem...

Any time I try to open this page lately, I get an error message of the type "403 Forbidden". Does anyone know what's going on there?

ah, nevermind, I just noticed you're talking about snusforum.com and not this one...was puzzled how you managed to post! I'm getting a DNS error (server not found) so it could be they're switching the server around or doing work on it?

I've been getting the same thing since Saturday Morning - even tried a different browser - same thing.

Oh well, as long as my snus is not 'forbidden', I should be alright

I hope that they do fix 'er up soon - that was a great forum. I have admin'd BBoards in the past and cannot imagine why it would be down for so many days unless the admin is on Holiday. Thing is that bb has(d) (what seems to be) some good sponsorship so, I dunno...

between here and the Ettan yahoo group I still get my snus talk fix, for this I am happy.

I second that - I liked how it was broken down in 'categories' too (Loose Snus, Portion Snus, etc.).

I just tried that site today - still getting the 'forbidden' message, sad to say. 'Twas another place to advertise Icetool Products.

OK, here's a brief brainfart for what it's worth.
Maybe, just maybe the site was take off-line because it was hosted on a swedish server.
I know swedish laws on tobacco advertisement can be very strict and hence they got a notice from the Big Guy to take it down?
Take for example www.generalsnus.com and www.ettansnus.com ?

As a side note; I wonder why Swedish Match haven't hosted the latter two on foreign servers to bypass swedish law. Maybe the extreme nordic honesty those folks are known for?

I don't know Swedish, but your hypothesis seems valid enough. Do you know what those site links you posted say? It seems they are in Swedish. Any Swedes out there, could you give us a translation? Many thanks.

According to my tracing software, snusforum.com is in Denmark and is networked by B-ONE-NET there.

At the Snus Forum at SMPOST some have suggested that the bandwidth has been exceeded, and when that happens that is one of the reasons a person gets the '403 Forbidden' Message. Guess we'll see on December 1 (DK Time; GMT +600).

I am also curious about the original offer included in the email I received advertising snusforum (copied and pasted below). Apparently, the three (3) best reviews were going to receive a roll of snus free from BuySnus.com. I emailed them about the difficulties on the site, but have yet to receive a reply. Strange. I even e-mailed the guys at BuySnus a week ago on friday to see if they had any info or an admin addy (since they obviously advertised the site).
Haven't heard from them tho.
