Yeah, so? Seems to me that private companies with international reach are doing business with Iraq's oil ministry....NOT the US Government. These private companies benefit as does the Iraqi Oil ministry, from their involvement together. These companies neither run our gov't, nor do they direct the actions of our military? I mean, it's not like we went into Iraq and set up the United States of America Oil Company and are simply stocking our federal oil reserves, NOW there's an idea? Our soldiers died, as did other country's men (not Slovakian BTW) and I think they deserve to be repaid for their sacrifice. True! And there's nothing wrong with protecting the flow of oil anywhere. Until a viable alternative comes up, most people would be sitting naked and hungry in the dirt without it.
The US gets the most of its oil from non- Mideast countries, anyway.

Wow, this is the dumbest mini-rant I've seen in awhile. Name one conflict that the US was involved in that we came away with oil rights? If your statement were true, we'd have already moved right into Iraq and taken over the oil fields, but we didn't. Now, don't get me wrong...I really wish we would have done that very thing, I mean hell...we help your country, you give us oil. Sounds like a fair trade to me.
