Apparently the numbers of people enrolling in Medicare are far higher than expected and could take away from the base of healthy people needed to make Obamacare work:

Oh, this keeps getting better and better. Obviously not for the people but to watch this thing go down in flames is pretty hilarious. Toni Townes-Whitley, Princeton class of ’85, is senior vice president at CGI Federal, which earned the no-bid contract to build the $678 million Obamacare enrollment website at Healthcare.gov. CGI Federal is the U.S. arm of a Canadian company.
Townes-Whitley and her Princeton classmate Michelle Obama are both members of the Association of Black Princeton Alumni.

So - it was sold to everyone as being very cheap ... but it's unaffordable for many. The website you need to use is broken and inadequate for the purpose. And they're still fining people if they don't sign up.

There's no defence for a politician that says one thing and does another. And there's no defence for imposing penalties for failing to do something which is impossible!

It's a shame ... public healthcare is workable, and has many benefits to the whole of society. To see it's one chance of being established being sabotaged from within the ranks of the very people who believe in it makes me want to pull my hair out. If this incompetence leads to you in the US never knowing the benefits of it - it's probably your one and only chance - and it's been f**ed up!

Yep... that's about it in a nutshell! My 95 year old dad and 91 year old aunt will be receiving letters from their current insurance provider telling them that their policies are no longer available and if they want new policies similar to what they have it will cost them about $1000 a month more than they are currently paying!!!

For everyone that voted for Obama... here is the HOPE AND CHANGE he promised everyone. Change your insurance and hope it will not send you to the poor house!

It really would not surprise me if a second civil war will come out of this... You can't screw people over like that and not expect some sort of adverse reaction.... but what do I know... I only use 99 cent a can General?

I saw on the news that the website will be "fixed" by the end of November, so there will still be four months before the fine kicks in. But, it is conceded that the 03/01/14 deadline will be forgiven, and a new six month period will be identified, possibly beginning on12/01/13?........... the general hysteria is fun to watch....... :-)

Health insurance cancellation notices soar above Obamacare enrollment rates (NJ - 800,000)


Nearly 800,000 New Jersey residents’ health-care plans will not longer exist in 2014, forcing insurers to create new ones for individuals and small business owners that hew to the Obamacare’s new regulations, The New Jersey Star Ledger found in early October.

“I don’t feel like I need to change, but I have to,” Jeff Learned, a television editor in Los Angeles, told Kaiser Health News. Learned now needs to scramble to find a plan to coverage his teenage daughter, whose health problems have required several surgeries.

More Americans have lost their individual health coverage in Florida and California than have gotten past the login screen on HealthCare.gov, according to The Washington Post, which reports that 476,000 applications have “been started,” but not completed. HealthCare.gov’s dysfunctional website has helped enrollment grind to almost a complete halt. (RELATED: HealthCare.gov contractor: We had only two weeks to test site)

To be fair those are the 3 states with the highest rate of Insurance fraud so I imagine their health care systems are currently set up in a very unique way. I'm not exactly sure if they are the top 3 but they are certainly the top 5 while Connecticut and New York may be in one of the higher spots.
