They Come To America (Full Documentary)

It really makes you wonder if the final goal is to merge Mexico and Canada with the USA into a North American Union.

Less than a minute in, and I'm already pissed off.
Guys dying for us in Afghanistan
Nobody's doing shit for me in Afghanistan. That's as relevant to me as the Andromeda galaxy. and that ****er bitching about Mexicans making money, and sending it home. I bet he doesn't have issues dragging his ass through Walmart, and sending money to China. Fsckin' hypocrites. His real issue is he doesn't like brown people that speak a different language. That's fine, but at least be honest about it.

Shit. 103 minutes left. I don't know if I can do it...

It is a lot more then just the guy with a grudge.
The main host actually helps out a Mexican guy and his pregnant wife who were living in a one bedroom with eight guys.

I found it to be a very good citizen documentary that hit on many different angles. One new thought for me was how in-humane it is to allow such a lack of border security. Maybe at one time it was just about workers looking for a better life but today it has advanced with heavily armed cartels running drugs and god knows what? Not to mention the "terror/spy element" who is also crossing over.

That is why I really wonder the underlying motives of why our government continues to look the other way. It is not fair to the American citizens on those border states.

I watched the whole thing. It actually wasn't a bad documentary. It gave both major positions decent time. I really have no opinion that's easy to write in anything less than a full blown thesis, but I'll just say the immigration issue is largely our own doing, and it requires everyone to change, from Harry Homeowner to the president. Anyone that gives a solution in a single paragraph is full of shit.

Ok, I am not the closest of politcal followers, or even someone who keeps up on news, as i hate the news and all of its bad news. So I am not claiming a position of knwledge, nor am I trying to make a statement with the question or questions I will ask. But my main question is, why should immigration be something that requires so much change? Why shouldn't it be the way it always has been. There is a process to follow to come here and be a citizien, and all are welcome that will follow that procedure. Come here illegally and, you aren ot entitled to health benefits, nor any kind of legal employment or anything else legally entitled to citizens, and if you get caught here, you get deported.

I do not understand why all of a sudden, thats no good anymore, and people would come down on me for stating illegals do not deserve the same things as legal citizens here in the US. I am not against immigrants,I am for immigrants becoming legal citizens. I am against illegal immigrants, especially since they now receive benefits from my hard earned $$$. So where am I wrong with this?

Historically there wasn't any health care, and people got jobs off the books, both immigrants, and home born Americans. Immigration "laws" were also very lax. It wasn't hard to get here legally, and it also wasn't hard to get here and disappear. "The way it's always been" is a red herring. What's going on now is the way it's always been. Tightly closed borders(or the desire of) is a recent phenomenon.

No I understand that. What I am more referring to is the position that the illegal immigrants deserve to get jobs here, to pay taxes and receive health benefits and retirement programs. Even though "illegals" have always been, they have never been allowed to legally work or receive benefits have they? Again, a question, not a statement. Whats going on now is definitely not the way its always been, at least not in the attitudes towrds the illegals. At least from my perspective.

I don't know that what we're doing is the best position to take. I think there's good arguments both ways. I lean towards integrating them the best we can. They're here, and they'll be here regardless, so we might as well suck it up, and deal with it. The way to handle it, is to not have them here in the first place. That can be done with policy, both from the government, and people's personal decisions. You can also throw money at it. How much fence could we have bought with the money we've pissed away on Iraq and Afghanistan? Even better, take the money we give to Israel, and put it into border security. That'll get the Muslims off our ass, reduce infringements to our rights, and mitigate illegal immigration. win-win.

I'm not one to judge a video by a few minutes, so I watched the rest the rest of it today. It was a decent documentary, and I'm glad that it wasn't one-sided based on the small bit I watched at the beginning.

I guess I had better mention the Census Bureau predicts that Hispanics will be the largest group by 2043. I posted the question just assuming that everyone already knew that fact. But perhaps some are not yet aware.

Better. Because they're solid blue (Democrats).

Other Democratic-aligned demographic groups include Asians, Jews, Muslims, African-Americans, LGBT, women, and the young voting populace.

........ I guess that leaves the Republican party to old, bitter white men.

You forgot Anarcho-capitalists and all the other extreme Libertarians. We're the bitter Gen Xers who are hispanic, black, LGBT, white, Jews, agnostics, Christians, etc who came for the party and stayed for the liberty!

We hate Republicans (crusty old bible beaters and their corporate cronies) but we FNKING hate Democrats (sappy old crusty commie baby boomers and starry-eyed little GenY twerps raised by their grandmas).

You're both the same gang and belong together. There isnt a lick of difference between you in the end. Two wolves and a sheep deciding whats for dinner.
