Please can we get this forum back on track?

This is a very personal plea - I like it here ... normally. I have a vested interest in keeping it the way it normally is.

It's pretty obvious to all of us that there have been a few new members on the forum whose sole intent is to derail the community we have here. They are not stupid, they are treading the line between getting banned and infuriating the rest of us with amazing skill!

It's getting to the point where the mods won't ban them - but they are massively interfering with our own interaction with each other, even causing us to argue with each other.

We've given the trouble-makers a grace period to show whether they are malicious or just very bad at social communication. It's now fairly clear that they are malicious.

Please, please, in the absence of moderator interception - can we just completely ignore them from now on? No matter how provocative the words typed?

    That's it.

And - yes, yes - lxskllr has said it very eloquently - we can ignore them ourselves using our own self-control. I hope I have conducted myself OK.

But we all know that life is not like that!

What is this 'self control' thing that people are bringing up?
If that guy was with me in real life Id sort him out without question... It WOULD stop immediately without an argument.
Its anti social and it seems that as an adult youre expected to deal with it. Yeah, Id deal with it sharpish, hed be gone from the vicinity of my life one way or another in seconds......doesnt apply here though. It seems as if its tolerated which WILL affect the atmosphere here....it already has.

Frosted - the Internet is a weird place .. the normal checks and balances don't apply - surely you know that by now.

Can't we just be boring for a while - ignore it all and then get back to business as usual (hopefully welcoming other newbies with welcome arms as usual). Lxskllr has pointed the way for us to mute the posts of those we don't want to get annoyed by ... which to my shame I did not know about.

That's the only way to deal with a malicious threat to our cozy snus-loving, fleshlight-obsessed forum from people who have nothing better to do than wind us up.

          Cheers

            1) it was anger from me on Kozlek
            2) Because I perfectly know that type of people ... And I felt its between me and him ..
            3) I got bed filling when we linched Tracer
            4) I accept everything but I hate tryckiness ... Which I felt from K.
            5) Lets calm down and have some fun .

No you don't need a sabbatical, that is what those fookwits would want, we all need to stay the same and just get on with things.

                  Guys,

Normal harmony should now be restored to the forum.

To prevent this situation from happening again the staff have been, and are currently in talks, regarding a change to our ToU to include a "rules of decorum" section whereby eg. bullying and baiting other members would no longer be tolerated here. We will update you on this as more information becomes available.

Nah...its not about winning or losing for me.
I deal with arseholes every day, its my job so that staff dont have to..... I come here to chill with some excellent people. Im not putting up with it in my spare time on the internet where Im powerless to do anything about it.

I just need a couple of days. I also have an issue with the moderation.

If you click on a username and view profile, there is an option to "add to ignore list" so if somebody bothers you why not just do that and you wont see them on the forum again.

Pris - nice to hear from you.

Despite many many more posts than me in total - we hear very little from you these days.

My dear friend Frosted, here, feels hard done by - and in my opinion quite rightly. He was banned for an (albeit rude) off-the-cuff remark a while back. Yet we find ourselves in the situation that a couple of rather smart trolls have infiltrated to such an extent that bickering between the ranks have broken out. Which in my humble opinion is far more damaging to the forum than any one-off remark.

Those of us who think there should be some kind of policing (I do not speak for the libertarian anarchists of which there seem to be many!) - feel that the mods are not as on the ball as they used to be. Consistency is probably all we seek.

                              Cheers
