I'm freaking looking forward to it!

I'm about to leave for work now and today I'm assisting one of my drivers that has a long day so that he may be able to get home by 4:00 or so. From what I hear, there should be a few inches on the ground by then. Right now @ 5:00AM...nothing.

I remember the Blizzard of 78. I was a kid, but I remember not being able to open my front door to let my dog out. That was was THE event for snow forts, snowball fights...no snowball wars. It was awesome. I'll never forget it. I hope we get 30" this time around. I remember walking to the store w/ my dad, it took about an hour each way but our little Radio Flyer wagon and a good pair of boots got the job done. I felt so proud of myself that day.

Y'know, they cancelled school for today yesterday morning. That irks me. People are taking the day off without even trying. Maybe send the kids home at noon or something...that would get everyone home in time and still keep society productive. Even stuff for Sunday is cancelled already. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to relish the time with my kids but I dislike the lesson it is teaching them. Maybe my "never say die" attitude is a little strong, but there are too many people not even willing to try. And the way supermarkets and gas stations were packed yesterday...if there was a REAL emergency it's pretty clear that society as we know it is F-ed.

It's still comin' down like crazy! I love it.

I just rekindled last night's fire but I'll have to dig my way to some more wood before too long. In an odd way, I'm looking forward to the dig-out. This is wicked cool.

all we got is 50s and rain

Love the story about walking to the store with your dad.............amazing how the little things we do with our kids make the lasting impressions

Stay safe and have a blast
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers
