What a joke. First they take their firearms, then they take their cigarettes? And do they really think a permanent ban on cigarette sales will have ANY effect on people born in 2000 or later? Imagine a middle aged man not being able to buy cigarettes because he was born in 2000... HAS THE WHOLE WORLD GONE CRAISY?!?!

Iceland proposed a mandate requiring cigarettes to be sold by prescription only (correct me if I'm wrong, Ingi).

Also, not only is snus and dip illegal, but the only snuff that's allowed to be sold is owned by the state (ÁTVR - State Alcohol & Tobacco Company). YfirBaggari told me that they were/are considering banning that as well, leaving cigarettes and cigars as the only legally available source of tobacco in the country.

... and Europeans call us crazy.

I used to love living here. The last 25 years have gradually worn me down,to the point where I need to find somewhere else to live. It has become an over regulated nanny state,at best.

I'm sorry to hear that. Australia is such a beautiful country, and the people are great (those Perth ladies sure know the definition of hospitality ).

I hope you will consider Seattle (Washington) as your place of asylum. There's no other place I'd rather live, than the great state of Washington.

It just sucks that Australia doesn't sell snus. If someone where to put restrictions there on smokes and I were one of the unfortunate people to live in that state, I'd hope that snus was without those restrictions, but as far as I know snus is illegal to sell over there, much like in the EU at the moment. I feel sorry for those unfortunate Aussies out there.
