yea yea yea......but whats really in a Jackinthebox taco???
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of the people I killed because they were annoying......

I've been wrong lots of times.  Lots of times I've thought I was wrong only to find out that I was right in the beginning.

Damn, at least it was fresh. Doesn't it weird you out that people eat shit like this? Sometimes I wonder about it, because there are plenty of other things to eat, but some cultures really enjoy the things that my culture would never even touch. My grandma-in-law will take eating a fish head over a freshly cooked salmon cutlet any day, and would rather eat pork blood than ranch dressing. It blows my mind.

What's so weird about blood? Have you guys never sucked the blood out of a fresh wound. Do you always have a first-aid-kit on-hand, when you injure yourself? Sausage made from pig-blood has a very similar taste. Very meat-like, slighty sweet and with a slight metallic undertone.

In case blood-sausages are uncommon in the U.S. (I doubt that, you probably should have a closer look at some lists of ingredients, next time you buy meat-products in the supermarket), I'm sure your slaughterhouses have found a way to make use of it. You'll probably find it, e.g., in your wine gums and other "non-vegetarian, non-kosher sweets" instead.

Yeah, fish heads, insects and some other foods are a totally different topic. I personally don't find it shocking to hear that people in other parts of the world eat them, but I probably would only eat such stuff in case I was close to starvation. Some other "delicacies" that are usually considered as horrible, like the fermented yak-milk in Mongolia, even sound interesting to me. I don't doubt that it would need some getting used to it, but I don't think that it's a totally different animal from the yoghurt and kefir that we are used to drink.

Now, that I think about the whole topic, the day when my first snus-oder arrived, comes to my mind again. I took a sniff from the package and thought: "what the hell have I ordered there? Those 25 Euros (my first snus-order was rather small) will hopefully not end in the garbage can!". I didn't find snus disgusting in the beginning, but it took several weeks of getting used to it for me, before I was able to fully savour the taste (even though I always liked salty food and even though I'm used to licorice and salmiak-candies, which share some similarities with the typical snus-flavor). I guess we all needed to get used to snus (more or less) and we certainly all agree, that snus is a delicacy.

        Cheers!

Fermented mare's milk is pretty bad, I've had my fair share of it. If you are curious about the taste, imagine a bowl of buttermilk that has been sitting out a few days, add some mineral water for mild carbonation, a dash of vodka for the low alcohol content, a few lumpy curds for good measure, and there you have it.

Well, that sounds like something I probably would order only one glass of in a bar.

            Cheers!
