How to make the healthiest cup of tea

    :-)

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-17030879

Tea expert Dr Tim Bond explains how to make the healthiest cup of tea with the help of TV presenter Cherry Healey and the Women's Institute.

Brewing tea longer increases the level of antioxidants called flavonoids, also found in fruit and vegetables, which may help in the fight against heart disease and cancer by neutralising harmful chemicals in the blood.

I usually make tea by the pot, and I keep the bags/loose tea in until the pot's empty. So I guess it's a 20 minute steep time on average.

I'm going to buy some full-fat milk for a change - i like this milk with a strong cup of tea. Note to self: drink more tea!

Yah I switched from cofee to Green Tea about a week ago and I just leave that shit in the whole time. It tastes stronger so I figured it got more of the good stuff in it. Seems like I was right!

I don't really drink normal tea now, only Redbush tea, black with a sugar

Redbush makes an amber red cup of tea, with a distinctive aroma and a clean,
refreshing taste. It can be drunk with or without milk, just like your usual cup of tea. Because it has a naturally sweet taste and without the bitterness of high tannin it is equally enjoyable without sugar; making it calorie free and good for your waistline. Redbush is also very rich in antioxidants and flavonoids. We think that our Redbush Tea is one of the healthiest teas around.

Yah i'm a big tea+milk lover. Give me some thai tea with milk or even a chai with milk any day of the week over some cofee.

Damn that sounds good. Can you get it at regular stores or do you have to order it?

You can get redbush(rooibos) at decent grocery stores. That and honeybush are kind of trendy atm. Of the two, I prefer honeybush, but both are a nice change. I never put milk or sweetener in tea. The only exception to that is when i make chai latte, but I don't make that often.
