Come on Vegan, back in the 50's it was like that, when cops weren't para-militarized revenue generating producers. You would be a fool to tell a cop that yes I know I was speeding or had a couple beers. It is an admission of guilt that should not hold up in a court of law unless you have been properly mirandized. The fifth amendment is very clear on the point of self incriminating. On the same point, I haven't admitted to a speeding ticket in years, I always go to court with an attorney friend of mine. Yeah I have to buy him dinner and usually pay a smaller fine than the suckers who mail it in and have to go to traffic school do. Seriously guys wake up and stand up for your rights a little. Think about what you just said, if I'm nice to the cop and lick his boots a little, maybe he will be nice to me. Oh it makes me ill......... I'm sure the jews who were effed with by the brown shirts thought the same thing.......

I'm not saying be disrespectful, But what is their perception of respect. They put their pants on one leg at a time like we do. We have more rights afforded by the constitution than they do at that instance. So why does it seldom feel that way????

Back when I was 16 the cops caught me with a full case of beer in my vehicle. This was a little over 20 years ago. They gave me a lecture, made me pour out the beer, and sent me on my way.

Would the same thing happen today? I think that a hefty fine, towing and impound charges would be levied today. It's just different nowadays.

I had to go to court, and I got PBJ. I had to wash cop cars, and the local band shell :^/

No Bodies Found in Texas Home

(HARDIN, Texas) - Deputies who swarmed a rural Texas neighborhood Tuesday to search a farmhouse where a person claiming to be a psychic told officials multiple bodies were buried found no evidence of even a single homicide, a sheriff's official says.

Liberty County Sheriff's Capt. Rex Evans said there was no indication of bodies being anywhere on the property about 70 miles northeast of Houston. Officials ended their search Tuesday night and went home, with the focus of the investigation now turning to the tipster who led local law enforcement and FBI agents to the home.

The sheriff's office had received two calls from the person, officials said. Evans said authorities took the tip seriously in part because the caller had details about the interior of the house that only someone who had seen it could have known.

He said authorities were working to track down the tipster and determine how she had such detailed information on the house. He said authorities had a name and number for the woman.

Asked if authorities thought the tip was a hoax, Evans said only that they found no bodies or anything to indicate a homicide had occurred there.

"We are going to continue our investigation and find out how this individual had this information in the first place," Evans said.

He said no decision would be made on charges until the caller could be questioned and the district attorney consulted.

The investigation began after the sheriff's office received a tip from a psychic who claimed that many bodies, including those of children, were at the home, said Liberty County Judge Craig McNair, the county's top elected official.

A quick search Monday night turned up nothing, authorities said. But the tipster called back Tuesday morning to say deputies had the wrong house, Evans said.

McNair said deputies found blood on a back door and detected a foul odor coming from the house, leading to the search warrant.

"We have to take tips like this very seriously," McNair said.

McNair said the owners of the home are apparently long-haul truck drivers who were renting the house to someone else. McNair did not have any information on the renters, but he said there was apparently an attempted suicide at the house a couple of weeks ago that could have explained the blood on the door. He did not know who was involved in the suicide attempt.

I think light traffic tickets are one thing but if you ever find yourself in a dui, domestic, assault etc... it is time to lawyer up and shut up.

My view is that cops are good for a society when trouble happens like being robbed, beat up or in general need of having one come by to visit. Justice is better served with a agreed upon order.
This was basically how it was when I was growing up, other then the presence of police cars ticketing speeders.

Now you have unconstitutional checkpoints, can sit in jail for 72 hours while charges are being written up (guilty until proven innocent), pain compliance, use of deadly tasers and brutal life threatening tackle downs instead of reasonable handcuff restraint, military style home entrances for simple home searches, masked attire so no witness can identify who did what upon coming in and destroying your home, a barrage of fines, fees, endless paperwork once you do get into the system, rape and torture prisons, stereotyping against blacks and whites over illegal immigrants, mass corruption, mass psychological disorders within the police force, and a general invincible attitude problem for many.

I know there are far more good cops out there then bad but if you want to know the truth it is that most people feel much safer when you guys are not around. THAT IS HOW BAD IT HAS BECOME!
