    possible lawsuit?

The hospital that I'm at when I was admitted to the ER two dr's and a RN tried hard to convince me to go home.for the simple fact I don't have insurance. I did in my last job which I was payed well but was layed off. The GI Dr plain as day said I should go home because of the bill. He is banned from seeing me and a formal complaint was filed. It's good I stayed because if I went home the results would of been disastrous. I'm not that knowledgeable when.it comes to the law. Would there be any merit in it? If I can prove if I went home I could.of died?

You could always try Canada... or England... or Sweden.

Anyway, I'm sorry for your negative experience. I thought doctors took Hippocratic Oaths for a reason -- it did not involve monetary gain or being peons for Big Insurance.

As a healthcare professional, I suggest you read this and then contact a lawyer for further advice.

Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act

...my two cents, you got a case especially once the doctor started talking about billing issues.

Appreciate the advice. It was definitely uncalled for. My wife was in tears because she knew I needed help. The nurse that was taking me to my room her jaw dropped once we told her what happened. She had a patient advocate talk to me. So I'll play it by ear weigh my options and go from there.

          EH,

I would think that you would have to show some injury as a result of the Dr.'s actions.

Mind you, that injury does not necessarily have to be medical in nature but can include emotional trauma as well (eg sexual harassment is not based upon physical injury but emotional).

In all likelihood the Dr will be disciplined or fired................but I'm not sure that that will translate into cash for you.

That said, I would contact a layer and let him tell you.
When it's my time to go, I want to die peacefully in my sleep, like my uncle did....... Not screaming in terror like his passengers

Snusdog, he really hurt me in a sense because I was in a very vulnerable state. To boot my 2 year old son was present, he had to know I was there to get better to be there for my son who depends on me. It was completely heartless. If he is fired that would be priceless to me.
