A post election review: Are the republicans making things better?

Long story short, no they are not. (Like everyone imagined)

First of all, Mr John BONER is blocking Ron Paul from serving on the Monetary Subcommittee Chair. As always the republicans are throwing Ron Paul under the bus because he is a real "republican" and not part of this new aged neoconservative nonesense that has become so popular.

Let's see, other than that they have decided they will shut down government and vote no on every bill until the dems breka and decide to give tax cuts to the rich. No surprises there.

So they havn't even taken office yet and they have already blown it. Again, no suprises there.

I personally hope they destroy the government and the whole thing comes crashing down. I have come to the belief that we will not sit down and really reform the system until it fully destroys itself and the country lay in shambles. Then people will be motivated.

Making things better takes time but I don't believe any neoconservative ideals will serve the common people well. I don't think Ron Paul is any sort of savior, and I would not want to live in some sort of libertarian paradise he subscribes to.

People won't be motivated until their wallets are truly dry, and it's unfortunate it's taking this long. We will need more job losses, more personal debt and bankruptcies.

I'm so disappointed in the system, I'm turning into an anarchist. I feel like we have to break the system to make any progress.

I ran across a new saying I kinda like. Politics is like a suggestion box for slaves.

I agree, and I don't see Ron Paul as a savior at all, but I think he is "different" enough to be worth electing him to a position of power. He could never bring a "libertarian paradise" because this is America, but he could do some things like clean up the fed and try to fix our backwards monetary policy.

I agree 100%. I am completely convinced that nothing will change until America lay in ashes and mass civil unrest and hardship falls upon the people. Things are still good enough to where people are going to let it happen and not worry about it. Once it gets bad, then good men will take charge (in theory). Or maybe even badden men wil come to power like in most reovlutions. who knows. But one this is clear, and that is that our 2 party system will only make things worse. It must all burn before it can be rebuilt.

            sgreger,
Take a look at this guy and tell me what you think, I have a feeling you might like his philosophy. For me he is Alex Jones minus the conspiracy crap.

Im definately going to check out this guys other content. He managed to fit in a minecraft reference and use my snuson avatar in his video lol.

His whole point of increasing complexity to fix a house built on a crappy foundation is exactly how i see things. The idea starts out simple, but over time government adds layers of complexity to every issue in an attempt to remedy some percieved problem, and that is how we end up with an 80,000 page IRS code and all of these crazy schemes to reform our healthcare system.

In fact the healthcare system is a great example, and obama's reform is a great example of what not to do. He is taken an overly complex and broken system and trying to fix it by adding new layers of complexity to it.

The authors main point is correct, that we have been lied to by others who have themselves been lied to. Our entire system was built on sand and that is why it doesnt work. We need to literally re-write america and start all over. But for that to happen wil require a very dark period, similar to how its played out in the past. But we are due for a new enlightenment period at some point, and i hope i am alive to see it, even if it is terrible to live through.

In the coming years, the world will continue to destabilize, and may even come crashing down. The time is coming. We will have a small window where we may be able to affect some change. Then in a few hundred years the tyrants will manage to get back in power and we'll have to do it all over again. Such is the fate of man.
