I'd rather see a Copenhagen Loose Leaf Chew, myself.

I think a Cope snus would be a big deal. ALmost as big as Camels first release.

Probably will be horrible but I am intrigued.

I think Copenhagen would ruin a snus. I'm not much of a los user, but if they made a los, it would be interesting to many.
But I still think, sales-wise, if they made a Loose Leaf Chew, like Red Man/Levi in a pouch, with their name on the pouch, and with that flavor of Copenhagen original in a loose leaf, I think that would sell well.

As far back as the 1970s, UST has maintained that the naturally occurring sugars in Copenhagen amount to 2% with no added sweeteners or sugar, and that Skoal is artificially sweetened. This tracks with the current ingredient list published on their website.

Letters to consumers from chemists and managers at UST were entered into evidence during tobacco lawsuits and many of them contain correspondence about sugar content.

Here are a couple of the letters from the 1970s, there are dozens more at the same archive:

Agreed, of course discounting General since you can only get that in specialty shops. If I found msyelf w/o any snus somewhere, Skoal mint is what I would buy to get me through.

I used to be like "I'll just buy a can of Grizzly to get me through", but the Skoal snus is good enough to work.

Not sure yet. I read it won't be released until Skoal Snus starts selling well. I hope the Natural blend is 50% moisture and has a decent pH level.

Speaking of Skoal Snus, here are some new varieties I saw on the US Smokeless website:

                      Skoal Snus Straight
                      Skoal Snus Wintergreen
                      Skoal Snus Dark Blend
                      Skoal Snus Crisp Blend
                      Skoal Snus Rich Blend

I still don't trust it, either Skoal or Cope. If I run out of snus, I'll grab a tin of Cope Snuff or Wintergreen and use it like snus. Works well in a pinch, and their snus products probably have negligible nicotine content anyway.

I don't either, nor will I until they are more transparent about how American companies make their "snus".

I won't waste my money on sweet snus. Jakobsson's is as sweet as I can tolerate, and only occasionally. Americans blow that away in sweetness, and don't have the sophisticated flavor to back it up. I'm with shikitohno, and would buy Copenhagen snuff in a pinch before getting the American "snus".
