I ordered some a little while ago too, along with my very first can of snuff. I only ordered one can to start with, money's short this month, and I'm not sure if I'm feeling brave enough for more than that just yet, but if I like it, I'll probably be stocking up soon. 8)

LOL!! It must have been the mention of pantyhose!Originally posted by Premium Parrotslmao.....or maybe the rustica just made her sexy. :lol:Originally posted by Toque SnuffWow, Desirexe you just made Rustica sexy. LOL!
either way I want some......of both.
edit; I just ordered two generous helpings of the rustica leaves from Roderik, and some snuff.
Had to add on to my 'sexy' review of Rustica - I ground up the rest today and the overall texture came out a tad gritty/coarse, the first small batch was more 'fine' because I spent more time grinding it. My first pinch of this large batch burned like crazy. After a day in the humidifier, it is now a lot smoother and doesn't burn. I was prepared for a huge nic hit all at once, but it didn't happen; instead, here I am typing, 30 minutes after my last use and I still have the deep tobacco aroma in my nose and that 'satisfied' feeling going on which I credit to the nicotine. Anyway, I am obviously very passionate about tobacco leaves! Thank you Roderick for sparking my interest!

If I recall correctly, I read that these leaves are air cured (Roderick can confirm/deny this info) and I am not an expert, but by the texture of these leaves, I would think it could be broken up and smoked but it would probably be on the harsh side, gauging this by the burn it produces in the nose!
Anyway - my hours at work have been cut, I am not complaining, I'm kind of enjoying the break. So, to keep from going crazy at home, I started a hobby! I built a hydroponic system and started a couple seeds of Rustica, I purchased from another site. It's been about a week since they were started and I now have 3 adorable baby Rustica plants (seedlings?), they are about 1" tall! Don't know how they'll do once transferred to the system. Not a huge concern though, this is a beginner experiment in hydroponics & tobacco.

"but... but... officer it's not pot it's tobacco..really!"
Actually that's a brilliant idea. :!:
Sounds like the perfect tobacco species for hydroponics. And we know that tomatoes are grown hydroponically. It's been said if you can grow tomatoes you can grow tobacco. 8)Tobacco Nicotiana rustica 18-24 in.
Planting depth: 1/8"
Soil temp. for germ.: 65-80°F
Days to germ.: 6-14
Plant spacing: 8-14"
Days to maturity: 80-85
Full sun
Heavy/moderate water
Not hydroponic but some indoor growing under artificial light pics:

Yep, air dried. I sometimes think the members of snuson and snuffhouse know more about my business than I do. Don't know why I bother posting. LOL!
