I tried snus and snuff the last two days and the winner is SNUFF!

I have been vaping 7 months to kick a 10 year Nicorette habit. I decided to try snus and snuff. I like the WTA in my e juice but I'm DIYing so I thought. Why not just get it from snus or snuff of the best kind and quit messing around. The plan was snuff a couple times a day and snus a couple times a day and vape when ever. Why do I like snuff a lot better? I guess because I'm worried about staining my teeth. There is a little more to learning how to use the snus ( I bought loose, get a lot more and $ is a factor) and there is more of a rush with snus. I probably snorted about 4 times more than most people do at one time but I just got the standard strength. What I want is the other stuff in tobacco besides nicotine.
So. I tried Torque and ordered more in a variety of flavors and bought a variety bundle on Mr. Snuff
called Vacation. That's commitment. I tried Goteburg Rape for snus and its fine, it works too and ill be getting more snus too ro give the nose a break. Since I'm 60 who cares now about the extra cancer causing stuff and I won't be using it like a teenager anyway. So hi and anybody have any suggestions for me keeping in mind best quality organic and high in WTAs and not needing high nicotine? Doesn't make me sneeze or anything else I need to get used to but the snus does turn to mud. I'll keep working on that.

Snus and snuff make a nice synergistic pair. Don't know why but they go together very well.

As far as the minor alkaloids there is really no telling if any one snus or snuff has more then any other. For myself I stay away from high nicotine snus. Anything above 8 mg is to much, but that's just me. I have also done WTA e-liquid from Aroma. It certainly is a big improvement over the straight nicotine, but it's expensive, even compared to snus, and I just couldn't find a reason to get to far into the vaping thing.

Snus and snuff have the goods as far as minor alkaloids so I wouldn't worry on that end.

Honestly, I like them both, and I feel there's a time and a place for one or the other. I prefer snus when I'm out and about, but when I'm sitting at my apartment, I like taking a few totes of snuff here and there

        Welcome to the forum

As far as snus goes....Try Ettan, Grov, Odens

For Snuff......give Molens Gingerbread, Molens Mettaijar a try (Dutch Snuff)

Samuel Gawith and Wilsons of the Sharrow also make great snuff (both English makers)

If you are using Los .......check out the Dipper's guide to snus....it is all about los. You can find it here

        http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...-Guide-to-Snus

Also for snuff you might want to check out the Binginner's Guide to Snuff....you can find that here

        http://www.snuson.com/forum/showthre...Guide-to-Snuff

Keep us posted and let us know what you try

Yes. I'm needing to learn stuff. Like how do know how much nicotine is in a snuff. None of thm say. I'm waiting for 6 different Toques and something a bundle called Vacation and I'm already making a list of the next ones to try based on some reviews here. Odens is one I'm certain to try but don't know yet which one. I'm not wimpy about strange strong smells but if they can be avoided and still enjoy a great effect wouldn't that be better? I don't know. So I'll be back. Thanks for noticing I'm here. Is a small group compared to ecig forum. I have my needs being met by ecig to a point and hat stood. I'm serious about any High WTA and if I tell you I vape 36 mg nic maybe you know if standard snuff or extra suff would be the right choice for me...at least ntill I read and learn more?

            Molens or Morgan's Gingerbread

and Wilson's of Sharrows and about 18 Different flavors and other brands are here....waiting at the
post office! These'll educate me about my tastes and I like a lot of things if they are well made anyway.
so having fun soon. I still only do about 6 x a day. Well. I guess that'll be 3 days to try all! I got the big one the gingerbread.read more people who recommended it on other site and several of Wilson's and Sharrow. Education in a box and I didn't order trial sizes. That would not have been frugal

You will be surprised how long a 7g tin of WoS lasts, I use my French Carotte daily and it takes me at least 2 months to get through a small 7g tin, sometimes longer, you will run into storage issues with larger ones if you don't decant into a snuff box and keep the opend tins in sealed glass jars.

Oh yeah. Sealed glass jars. I can do that. Thanks. I use it more than that but I do have a lot of snuff now.
and I'm liking snuff more now than ever. Especially with offerings like.
                Fribourg Treyer -Morocco,
                Wilson's- Princes and -Royal George
Maybe repeats1 De Kralingse -Gingerbread and -Prins Regent

That's 5 out of 9 snuffs I have tried so far. These were really my taste and unexpectedly better to me than the Torques 6 different flavors I tried. Spanish Gem and Coltsfoot still my favorites of those. 2 out of 6

I have Dholakia Ganga. Makla Africaine Platinum to try still

My non repeats turned out to be Wilson's Morlaix and Dholakia Sparrow simply because the other 5 were better not because they were bad in anyway just not exciting. At this point in time I could live on Morocco but things change and someday revisiting things will leave a new impression plus I end to get tired of things. Prins Regent was last because it is perfumey (nicely) and I might end up not repeating that one in favor of trying something new by the time I finish it. Same with Gingerbread because I bought a big can of that one

Finally I tried 2 bottles of Thai Herbal Yellow! It's interesting. I love curry I like hot spices and this is also a little menthol.
this one is very long lasting experience that changes and I took it to relax before going to sleep. Take it an hour before sleeping! It was a blast of curry quickly followed by hot then cooled some with menthol and then sort of all mixed for awhile until loosing the strength of the hot and the menthol to leave the flavoring spices of curry to get in too but about 2-3 minutes after comes a neat very warm torso arms and face flush less than 30 seconds. And ending with a stopped up nose that I fell asleep with after blowing and an hour later with my mouth open. So jury was still out but I woke up with a clear nose and I was tasting and smelling things a whole lot better than I usually ever do. If that happens again like that I call it a very special and occasional snuff. Like 2 times a week. Or, my instincts tell me to do it nightly for a few nights the stopped up nose beyond an hour will stop happening. Ya don't know til ya try it. Soooo I'll definitely get the Thai herbal again but the other 2 offerings one of each.

Did you want to know any of that? Probably not but I think it helped me a lot reading some input about flavors from others. I couldn't go into detail on 5 favorites though. Just too much! Just great snuff is the best I can do there!

Molen's snuff is very mild. I like something with more body like F&T HDT or Viking Dark.

                      Which Molens have you tried?

I ask because I am surprised that you find them mild. That is just not the description I would have expected

I tend to find Molens full bodied in nic, grind, and flavor

In turn I find HDT (my #1 favorite snuff hands down) to be a full flavored but lighter in grind and overall feel.

Funny how our tastes differ…………. it makes life interesting and reading reviews interesting

I wouldn't say Molen's snuffs are mild, they deliver with vitamin N but are just so nice and easy to take that you can't help take more and more. HDT, a personal fav too, is very light and fine (like most toasts) and like dog says is full flavoured and doesn't feel heavy in the nose.

The Molens I have tried are Pompadour and Pris Regent. To me, both are heavy on clove and light on tobacco. The smell of them both are very similar to each other and reminds me of the smell of my mother's spice cabinet.

                          I like fhe grind, too.

I like toasts very much. F&T HDT and WoS IHT 22 are both excellent as are Toque's Almond and their Marmalade. I think we three agree HDT is king of toast.

Yeah, when I take Molens I take about four good pinches out of my palm and ten minutes later I have to go for some toast or scotch to get my satisfaction.

It seems that Molens is pretty popular. I ordered some before and it ended up sold out.

Most of them are heavily scented, which is a bit deceiving because they can pack a punch. Try the straight lakakia one, very smokey like a scotch but not as fine and much easier to take.
