Does Snuff *Have* to Be Sniffed?

I've tried sniffing, and I'm having trouble with the breath control. Would it be just as effective to tap a portion out on my fingertip, and almost "reverse pick" my nose???

American variaties such as we garrett for example are dipped on the most part. I'd never do it though lol. I prefer it the traditionally way in the nose!

Keep trying brother we all had problems in the beginning for the most part. Try to keep sniffing out of your mind. Bring it up close to your nose and breathe in naturally most snuffs will find itself to the front part of your nose where it is sposed to be. Remember it's not a race. If you ever watched the movie inglorious basterdz brad pitt was doing it wrong cause u could hear him sniffing. His merthod it would end up at the back of the throat. Keep trying my friend. Consider it learning to ride a bike. It takes a while but the benefits are well worth it. I've been snuffing over a year now and it still at times finds itself in the back of my throat. Good luck

If nothing else works, use the wet pinch technique: wet your finger and thumb before pinching, then insert the snuff-covered digits into your nostrils. Snuff delivery without sniffing at all.

On another forum howdydave described the boxcar method. Useful especially if you are tapping the snuff from a container. Using a modified version of this method I bring the snuff on my thumb nail slightly into the nasal cavity. My thumb nail forms a seal which I break slightly to allow minimal airflow. Works for me

what about a snuff machine. i think they are generally made as a novelty, but the idea is sound. it's like a little catapult that shoots snuff in yer schnoz. you don't sniff, so it shouldn't go too high. anybody tried one?

The best way for me if i am sniffing it is to pinch between finger and thumb. With thumb on top lift it up balancing the snuff on my finger in a mound. Then lifting the mound up to my most favorable nostril allowing the mound to rise up within my nostril by being so close. Then half covering the other nostril i very gently sniff in whilst slowly moving my finger slightly from left-to-right.

Not always true -- when I was in Mongolia taking snuff with a bunch of Mongols they all sounded like Ray Liotta's character in Goodfellas. My Mongolian friend here in the US and her American husband both pretty much snort it, and do so with pleasure. I don't get it, and to me as well yeah that is doing it wrong, but some people prefer it that way. The group of Mongols in particular were very regular users and they just hoovered it up, or at least that's how it sounded.

No sniffing for me..ever. The snuff catapult is the only method I use, I just never really got on with pinching and sniffing...ok, i have no coordination to pinch and sniff!! That crap is hard to do!! Haha I would not snuff if it weren't for my Automatikbox! I should make a commercial for this product..seeing as how much I love it!
