Woah!!!

So I really wanted a cigarette.. I accidently ran into a tobacco shop by me that had two types of nasal snuff. Out of curiosity I picked up some. It was Navy Sweet Scotch Snuff. I think it was $7.50 for a 1.5oz plastic "bottle" type thing. I never really knew this stuff existed in the modern day so I got it.

Been trying to kick cigarettes with a combination of dip and swedish snus. Anyway. I was weary of trying it. I said NO cigarette, opened the lid, put a tiny bit on my finger and *sniff.*

Holy crap it burned. My eyes started watering I ran to the bathroom and blew my nose. It subsided after about 60 seconds.


And I LIKED it! The aroma is still lingering around up there somewhere and I like the smell/taste.

popped some Kodiak Wintergreen in and I'm good.

Later this AM I'll use some Offroad Original (It smells like dirty feet, but tastes good, to me at least. Maybe not all the time, but it's okay. Plus I'm out of Ettan! I wish I could find a snus more similar to American palate).

Anyway, They had this Navy Sweet Scotch and they also had a RailRoad something or other. I picked this up by blind luck.. It seems I remember reading on a snus forum that nasal snuff is VERY high in carcinogens. (anyone have any idea?) So I never really thought of doing this permanently, but I enjoyed it and I don't want a cigarette.

So how is this Brand? I know you can order it online but I don't know where from.. Northerner (where I've bought snus from) doesn't sell it to America anymore and coupled with my lack of real enthusiasm for it I never really "looked" for snuff before.

Nasal Snuff is not high in carcinogens, and sniff it much more lightly than you did the first time. The American scotch snuffs are very difficult for beginners. snuffhouse.org is a great discussion site for snuff, similar to this one for snus.

Navy sweet is good...i prefer three thistle strong and Tube Rose for American dry snuff. Check out Mr Snuff for the varietys available...they are categorized by country and manufacturer and they have the snuff wizard...helps you find what you are looking for. Also order some Toque direct from Toque snuff. Excellent snuff and free shipping! There is a bit of info on this site on nasal snuff but you might want to check out snuff reviews or snuffhouse for more reviews. They have a plethora of info....more than we have here.

The first time I used snuff I had the same eyes red and watering nose burning experience. You will refine your technique pretty quickly and that stops happening. It is a nice instant nic fix though isn't it ? Try You Tube for videos on how to use snuff. I believe C.NashX A member of this forum has some snuff videos and in one of those he gives pointers on how to use it.

You also might try the pinch and wipe method. Take a small pinch and instead of sniffing it wipe it on the inside of your schnooze's center divider. It's a little inelegant but it gets the good stuff right where it needs to be instead of high in the nose or the back of the throat.
